think im right in thinking we could have finished tonight anywhere between 3rd and about 14th as a rough guess..
saturday will probably be a similar scenario, its another 8-10 games before the league table comes close to meaning anything, im pretty sure bruce is as safe as houses win, lose or draw saturday..

Think prozzy will come good, he strikes me as very similar to jvoh, tall but all about using his feet and a deadly finisher. I don't think he's had one chance to crack a shot off with his feet for us yet, and when he does I'm certain hell stick it away. Poor lad has just been used to lump balls up to for us and not really had much chance to show us what he's all about and what he can do. Get to a game early and watch the olayers warm up, he hits all his shot with ferocious power and deadly accuracy, almost every one is in target an 9/10 times well out the keepers reach. The 3-5-2 doesn't suit him as you need pacey strikers capable of taking on a man and pulling out wide to support attacks. Drop him in a 4-4-2 where he can sit about being lazy like a proper striker and I think he'll shine like Gary glitters smile in a nursery.

He's about as safe as Alex Ferguson at the moment.

Stan has said himself that he's not wanting Bruce out, he was asking the question from the Allam's perspective. Bruce should be safe in the job anyway, it's such a close league this season with no run away teams and unexpected results are flying in everywhere (Palace beating Wolves, Ipswich drawing at Brighton and even us losing to P'boro). Form can change in this league with a click of a finger as we have just seen with us, a positive result could set us back on the right track.

    Who?

Agreed, but it worries me that he hasn't had a proper shot. Isn't it his job to get into the positions to receive a pass? He'll probably come good because as you say, he obviously has the talent watching him warm up but it might take a while, he looks miles behind play to me.

I feel certain the defensive howlers will soon stop but hopefully not to the decrement of out attacking play, which is a joy to watch at times. I am confident Bruce will sort this out soon, even if it means dipping into the loan market.

When is Jakupovic expected to be back?............I am not at all convinced by Amos (even before last night).

Not that you probably want to hear from us right now but sometimes an outside perspective can be more objective.

Steve Bruce may not be flavour of the month with the Mackems but that was a hiding to nothing given his roots anyway... he did good jobs with both Birmingham and Wigan on limited resources ...

This is a remakably difficult league as results have shown time and again ... but knee-jerk reactions rarely lead to immendiate improvement.

Pearson has been given the time to bring in his own players and only now is it starting to pay-off to some extent (I'm not counting chickens by any means) because they have now had the time to get 'embedded' and playing as he has intended..

Even when we wrere losing this season I was encouraged by the way we were 'trying' to play ... swift counter attacking football with lots of movement and purpose ... yet we still lost games where we were largely on top Charlton, Blackburn and Wolves..

Similarly Bruce needs time to get his team settled in and playing the way in which he wants .. that may mean bringing other players in during the January transfer window .... patience is key IMHO

I think he will get it right and with the combination of his experience, the Allams wealth and enough time I still think you will be top six finishers

I have seen some of the other fancied teams and have not seen anything to really fear yet - Wolves were strong, physical and aggresive but rather one dimensional - Blackburn have some good individuals but don't look cohesive as a team ... Blackpool ae very dangerous going forward but also likely to concede... confess I haven't seen Cardiff yet ... but every other team seems capable of beating any other on its day.

Thanks, Manuel...you read my post(s) before replying!

But you, my old French Letter: you need to loosen your grip! Where in my posting do I call for SB's removal? I haven't littered my postings with tons of spurious FACTs (or IMOs).

I merely posted an article to start a debate. Some intelligent responses have resulted. Do try and make your replies intelligent.

    That's all, Frenchy......

<ok> We're a good example that chopping and changing managers and staff don't get you anywhere and its far too early to judge managers, the only managers that should be worried are the ones in the relegation zone atm, especially Jewell imo

We went 4-4-2 against Brighton, Blackburn and Charlton and although he looked lazy he never shone at all... (though to be fair, you're right about him not having had a decent chance to put one in with a boot)

One of the most sensible posts I've seen in a long time. This is a horrible league, but exciting, and this season I expect the top 12 to be seperated by 1 or 2 points and more than a few losing out on goal difference. Its tighter than a gnats chuff.

The Allams imo wont be worried at all at this moment in time. We have more points on the board than last season after 9 games and are playing super football going forwards. We could be sat at the top on 22 pts now very easily. What is going wrong at the moment is far easier to sort out. At least we are scoring goals now. I was entertained last night and a great game of football. Blackpool like Peterboro know they were lucky winners. Its all in our hands.

Correct. Already we have seen how fortunes can change in a week or 2. Look at Brighton. 2 home games against Birmingham and Ipswich and just one point gained and they sat Top before last saturday. Lets wait and see how the league table looks after October But it wont be until after the Xmas/New Programme that the Real League Table takes shape.

Sadly we have like every other club. 2 weeks ago they were saying no body can touch us now its how sh.it we are ? Talk about knee jerkers.

Nobody has paid £3m for Prozzie.

Correct. Steve Bruce would have to have Hull City rock bottom of the league in January for them to even discuss it.

The championship is now showing what is is. Dog eat Dog. We have done some eating and now we have been eaten a bit. It will swing again as it always does in this league. Thats why is the best league to watch in the UK.

    Very fair comments.

Note this Fact. After 9 games last season READING had 11pts on the board and after 14 games they had 18pts. After 17 games they had 21pts and we all know how there season ended.

When it comes to showing some intelligence then Stan maybe this thread could have been better thought out. 9 games in,, I dont see any team that is better than us when we are on our game. The Lesta game is the one game where we failed to show up at all and yet could still have nicked a 2-2 draw. That's all, Stan.
