I am getting really fed up of reading all this negativity on this board. Yes we are in a bad way at the moment. No we aren't playing brilliantly. But with the injuries we have, particularly in the back 4, what would you do differently? Mark Hughes has to put out a side that he feels is best for each game. Admittedly I believe there have been a few errors in players through the midfield, but we are losing games through the middle of the park not dominating, so why has nobody said anything about Faurlin and Granero? Granero has been playing alright, Faurlin was a West Ham player yesterday. We all slate Park off for not being a left midfielder, in a 4-4-2 system, Fergie played him in the middle. In regards to the back four, give the guy a break, we all know Clint Hill and Onuoha will get nowhere near the starting 11 when Fabio, Traore, Dyer and Bosingwa are fit but my word what else can we do?! We HAVE to give it time. Sunderland were rock bottom at the start of DECEMBER when they appointed Martin O'Neil, look where they finished?! And I am a firm believer that our squad is better than what they had last year. Touch wood, by December we won't be rock bottom and Hughes would have sorted it out. I'm trying to find positives here, but you can't keep saying its wrong when we're creating more chances than every team we play, and the real problem is that our back line is not existent at the moment and that's something Hughes can do nothing about. After this weekend we have 2 weeks before we play Everton. Let's see the team then when everyone 'should' be fit, and we'll see what happens then.
Some valid points elnino, but for me Hughes does not see things early enough when they are going wrong, yes Faurlin was off yesterday and Granero wasn´t great but to insist on having SWP and Park on the wings when we are getting out muscled in the middle is just clueless and Hughes just didn´t see it early enough for me. He should have played Diatike from the off to counterbalance the big lumps that WHU had it the middle (he may have even lasted the whole game as well). I could see that from my internet connection in bloody Madrid 1500 miles away so why can´t Hughes see that 30m away??? - If the defence is so poor at the moment cos of injuries why didn´t we play Park deeper to cover??? and not have wingers??. Sorry but Hughes has no idea - but I want to be proved wrong!!!!!
Share your sentiments, I'm not asking for MH to be sacked but I really hope over the next few games he puts the best team possible out there, which he ain't doing at the moment. He's not using the resources at his disposal nor is he giving us the best chance to win games.
I'm looking at things from a positive angle. I just can't see where all these briatore wannabes have come from. They'll be asking for our names soon or they'll leave the site.
We all know how frustrating it can be, but it makes it 100% worse reading some bleeding obvious, some bleeding ridiculous and some just bleeding irrelevant points on here. Realistically speaking, with the exception of the diabolical Swansea game, last night was the only game we've all expected to win.
First up I was not at HQ last night so only saw what the TV showed so may not have the whole picture, plus I missed the first 10 minutes. However it was pretty obvious within 20 minutes that we were completely overrun in midfield, but what i don't understand is why that could not have been sorted before half time. MH had the opportunity to change things when the West Ham lad was knocked out and there was a 5 minute stoppage, why didn't he get the team together and change it there and then? Every time West Ham went forward they looked as if they would score. Even the changes he made in formation at start of the 2nd half didn't work as we were so light weigh in the middle, Diakite & Adel should have been on straight away in the 2nd half, because we looked so much better when they did come on, in fact if Diakite had stayed on the pitch we would have probably got a point. We all DON'T know best, but if our un-trained eyes can see these problems then those who are being paid thousands in salary should have seen them and taken the appropriate steps to rectify the situation sooner than they did. Have to say I am rather ambivalent towards MH but i can not see how a revolving door policy of managers is going to work, do we really want to go back to the situation we had a few years ago with a different manager every few months.....i for one don't....so MH should stay, it will come good (he says hopefully).
i love qpr but we were ****, it is as simple as that...what is there to be positive about that ?? i was at game , 1-0 down at home again after 2 mins , its just **** ... i really hope we recover but moaning about negativity on this board is just silly , when something positive happens you will read all about it im sure
What do you think of him playing an out of position park and a terrible SWP every game meaning Hoilett and Taarabt dont play. What do you think of dropping Hoilett after 2 good games? What do you think of bringing on Hoilett after 85 mins? What do you think of him persisting with the awful Cisse? What do you think of him buying a zillion midfielders but leaving us with no forwards or defenders to bring on? It was obvious things werent working and Hughes leaves it until its way to late to change things. Those things are not me being captain hindsight. I was saying them before the game even started with the obvious exception of bringing Hoilett on.
I'll be positive. We got a lot of good players, good enough to keep us up, especially if we can get in a decent CB and Striker in January. All we need is a good Manager. So TF, get that cautious clueless Hughes and his close team out Now, and bring in someone that can. Harr'y do for now.
Sorry weren't we all having a go at Hughes for not "going for it" at home. He plays 2 'out and out' strikers at home and now we're saying he shouldn't be playing one of them and we should play a midfielder instead? In my opinion Hoilett should have started yes, but if he hasn't started then we can only assume he wasn't fully fit, because we don't know the facts. Speculation and assumptions are only making the view of him (Hughes) even worse which is going to make the atmosphere and opinions worse. He isn't deliberately playing a weakened team! Some fans are so fickle, let him get on with it and support him through and through.
That change of manager was what was crucial. Excellent move by that club's owners. We need to do the same.
That's rather negative, wouldn't you say? That's a really poor, negative, unhelpful attitude you've got there, mate. So if we play the team we have now with the squad of players MH actually chose as cover while the injured are out - you wouldn't give them a vote of confidence and say "this is your chance"??? So what if we pull off 2 amazing victories with the back-up players??? Would you put the supposed "better quality" players back in immediately? That's not going to help with morale, I can guarantee you. Oh and, er, I would have taken O'Neill over MH.
I think we can all agree that last night hughes got the tactics wrong and was too pig headed to change until it was to late. (Playing Park wide left still bemuses me.) He's more effectual in the middle or even on the right. After 15 minutes you could see the width just wasn't there and we were being over-ran in the middle of the park. Im not saying he should have sarcafised a striker to add another man in the middle, far from it infact. Last night the game was calling out for a good old fashioned 4-4-2 diamond. If you can't run round them (which we couldn't) then pass it through them. Take SWP off and get Adel on at the point of the diamond, then have Faurlin, Granero, Park as a middle 3 with one holding a litlle deeper. Simple's!! Now where's my Footy Manager..........
a) the highlighted line is a positive, its supporting the manager. b) your opinion on here is as valued as SWP's contribution last season.
"I am getting really fed up of reading all this negativity on this board"With the greatest respect, you don't have to read it if you don't want to. There are many passionate Rs fans that post here that feel real pain the gut and mental anguish when witnessing tripe of the like we were presented with last night. This board offers a harmless way for them to vent their spleen. It is preferable to kicking the cat or going on the rampage around Waitrose. "Yes we are in a bad way at the moment. No we aren't playing brilliantly. But with the injuries we have, particularly in the back 4, what would you do differently?"There are many posts thoughout this board - and particularly in recent weeks - where contributors have been putting forward some very intelligent thoughts of their own. That's the point, isn't it? Presumably Hughes is putting out what he considers to be his strongest available eleven to play what he considers to be the best tactics and formation for each match? If this is the case, then hasn't he be found wanting? Playing 2 up front is no good if they never see the ball. In a 4231 we have 4 attacking players. In Hughes 442 we have 8 defensive players including 2 defensive wingers and I knew wed offer nothing until changes were made.
We've all got an opinion, that's what a forum is for. For my tuppence worth I would like to say Taarabts goal was utter perfection and it stopped me wanting to leave early. 2-0 down to a very average West Ham side wasn't what I expected but Adel came on and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck with a trademark Exocet missile of a goal. Clattenburg has become a by-word for Clown and the circus came to W12 last night. Is he related to someone high up at the FA? I can't see why he would ever be put in charge of anything more important than handing out the oranges at half time on the Scrubs. He broke the record for cards handed out to West Ham but we ended up with 10 men! Vaz Te is a liar and a cheat. He might be a superb/good/average/crap footballer, I neither know nor care, but either he is a liar and a cheat & Fat Sam has turned a blind eye or his histrionics are as a direct result of instruction from his manager. How he was allowed to get away with the blatant time wasting whilst feigning injury is a joke. Park & SWP are not up to it. Hill can't play at left back. Onuoha has as much pace as a Blackpool pleasure beach donkey. The pope does in fact wear a silly hat. I have it on good authority that when located in areas largely populated by trees bears have been know to defecate.

Agreed, however by asking the question I was kinda looking for responses regarding yesterday. "Mark Hughes has to put out a side that he feels is best for each game. You can't blame the manager for strikers not converting chances, at least they're getting in the positions. We've already established the backline is not our strongest backline by any means. You've taken that point without taking into account the previous point regarding Bosingwa, Dyer, Fabio and Traore, which was almost our backline vs Chelsea where we defended very well.
