    Wrong. McShane is ****.

We'd be more defensively sound if we went with a 2-5-3 than a 3-5-2 with Macca at the back.

If Ince is out that should limit them to 3 ...

Did you go to Burnley last year?! He was absolutely DREADFUL. Not once did he actually go for and/or win the ball; just kept jumping on people's shoulders. He played ok against Rotherham... a league 2 team. Faye and Bruce do not worry me (yes; I said Bruce doesn't worry me, he's been solid other than one maybe two games this season) and from what I've seen of them which was not Saturday as I wasn't there; they have been good signings. If McShane plays, I worry for Bruce's brain. You have Liam Cooper who's proved he can play not only this level but PL too not even in the frame.

    McShane in = :emoticon-0119-puke:

Explain why you're not worried anyway then. Look at the subs bench for a normal game, Dawson, Rosenior, and McShane are named on it. For what situation in a game does McShane get named ahead of Cooper as cover when Daws and Rosy are already on the bench, but would then drop behind him when Chester is injured.

That'll be you and Bruce at it then.

I did go to that game, yeah and I'll be first to admit that he was the worst player on the park by some margin. However, that doesn't mean he will be crap forever more. He's made a few shaky appearances, but the PL game for Liverpool (which I think he scored in) he was outstanding and has shown that he is capable at this level. Macca likes to bomb forward with the ball, a bit like Chester does, so if he comes in it means we won't have to change the other defenders.

As Ricardo said, Cooper (for reasons beyond me) hasn't been in the matchday group at all, but has proven that he is competent at this level so I'd have him in the squad at least. The lad is solid and is probably our best homegrown first team player for a few years.

It's the one thing I disagree with Brucey on. I think Cooper is a terrific player; not Chester quality but he can reach there. McShane is not as gooder player and we could find someone better in my eyes. If we HAVE to play McShane then fine, but when he does come on the pitch I do worry; as every game other than one he's been mostly sh**e. It's just the truth.

Have an each way then with Aluko and Simpson.

Ince will be the bigger miss for Blackpool. All there moves come from him normally.

Shame that Steve Bruce did not give him a go on saturday. That was poor management as McLean has a habit of scoring off the bench.

I expect Rosie to come in for Chester and play wide right of a back 3. It can then go to a flat back 4 when needed.
