I don't blame you Lloyd - but my advice to you is, don't bother looking at it. Rags such as the Star don't really qualify to be called newspapers, they rely on headlines to attract readers but then give very little to actually read IMO. Stick to those that offer content.

Oh come on - it is what tabloids do all the time - lousy puns etc - I thought it quite good actually - not that I would ever voluntarily read that trash :) Did you forget to predict this week?

Briefly.. I am in lincs today..... I got to the match yesterday with mlle yorkie..... and it was the first match we had seen under the new regime...
We were VERY impressed... this was a quality WFC side i have not seen for a long time....
I must admit to being bemused.. even shocked... by the passsing game at first... but clearly Hudds were.... as we held possession for long periods..

We were very unlucky to go 1 down... ball to hand on fitz hall.... and an unsighted goalie for a soft goal.... but we carried on with 100% spirit and came through deservedly..

Best play I have seen away since we beat forest 2-4 a while back... If we carry on like this i have no doubt we can finish in the top ten.

Mlle even started a chant about Aidy Boothroyd..... this was real cheese and chalk difference in style!

I dont know where to start with the players as I dont know most of them! In defence we were strong with Hoban and fitzhall.... deeney was first class and looked prem material... forestieri got stronger and stronger after wasting a free kick earlier in the 2nd half and was a threat every time he had the ball in the last 20 mins..

22 and 27 got stornger as the game went on... and we expoited the wings much more in the second half..

By the end i was dancing in the aisles and some lads next to were hugging a policeman!

    This was very promising.....

The Yorkie curse is over... where M and Mlle go.... we WIN!!!

Well done Yorkie - there was a lot of dancing in the aisles..very interesting to read your comments. It does take a while to get used to the passing and keeping possession even if it is not going forward, but after bit is quite reassuring and I am seeing an improvement each week as the team get used to playing with each other.

Hmm, i might have to take a punt! lol...i rarely bet..but i've been very lucky. As with every bet, when it wins, i wish i'd put more on! lol

i agree, but BB has it right :)

Oh Yorkie, thank you! This was such fun to read. It's great to hear it from someone who hasn't been watching the team, and to hear that it excited you to that extent! How fab!

Listening in only, but that had to be a really encouraging performance. When however you read around a bit and find out that it was as promising as it sounded, then you say thanks to Jon Marks and Matt Rowson who conveyed the good things as well as the play that still can be improved.

More than you can say about the fool who does the highlights commentary on the Player. He is dreadful. Thank goodness we will get some proper extended ones soon.

Doesn't sound like he is - I've only looked at the Brighton highlights & they were so one-sided that I thought we had borrowed them from Brighton.

He had the fact that if Huddersfield won they could go to the top of the table and it seemed as if that was all he wanted. When they put up extended highlights they usually manage to integrate Jon Marks commentary with the pictures.

How to stop the diving, laugh at the diver; it worked with Jan Lohman after his effort against Charlton.

Having just read Zola's comments on the game I feel even more positive.... I thought we played well... apart from some defensive errors... and the lack of ability to move the ball into shooting positions for periods of time..... and we had approx 60 % possession.....

Zola thought we didnt play so well etc etc.

I think I am in shock seeing such a different Watford than in recent times....

Like the Express headline, they must have thought a long time to come up with that one; unless it was used for Marlon King and any others players who have been jailed and then returned to score winning goals.

I watched the film of the game and was Forestieri's goal really a deflection, it just looks poorly hit to me as there was no apparent change of direction. Also the penalty, definately contact but all the hoo-hah on the BBC is totally wrong about soft, diving, etc.

Yesterday when I went to my local shop for some milk, I saw they had the Football League Paper, so I thought that I'd get it. Just as well I had a look at the cover before picking it up - it was a week old. I know Jersey can be stuck in the past at times, but that's just ridiculous!

i dont think the deflection made a difference. The keeper made no effort to save it either way, he just watched it in. if he thought it was going in before the nick surely he would have dived after it???

the pen was stonewall. No contact with the ball but clipped Forestieri, even Grayson admitted that.
