When Carroll and Enrique went to Liverpool, we were significantly below them in the league.

Carroll and Enrique went for two reasons. They were due a pay rise on the back of their performances for us. We didn't want to pay that money and got good offers for both (in Carrolls case, an offer difficult to refuse). Liverpool were also at the time looking a better bet than us with massive investment etc. Just goes to show how unpredictable footbal is.

I see some are still trawling out the "Carroll means long ball" myth too. He'd be a great signing for us and would certainly not mean a change in tactics or going back to Fat Sam. Hopefully they can both come back now Enrique is being frozen out. 20m for the pair, buy them back for half the price?

Got to stop listening to the papers and start listening to pardew and Ba.

Ba has always played wherever he is asked. Pardew says that Ba is one of those players who plays for the team and always will. Ba continually tweets about how muchhe likes it here. His agents talks ****e and the papers stir ****e. Ba is fine

Ba and Cisse can't play together in the same team. How much more proof do we need of this. Offloading Ba and getting Carroll in return would be a great step forwards.

Aye a bit blunt but I'm now bored of this myth which has been created about them not being able to play together. People have completely forgotten that our run of form after Xmas came with them both in the team. They can and will play well together once we are firing as a team. At present we are short of our best form, have numerous injuries to the spine of our team and are coping with a lot of games. The first one they can work hard to correct but there is little you can do about injuries. The third part is something people are ignoring. We do not have the same amount of prep time for games as last season. We are playing every 3 or 4 days and the coaching staff are having to try and minimise the impact. Its not a massive surprise we have struggled for rhythm as a result of the lack of prep time, chopping and changing of the team because of injuries.

Modern football fans just seem to have forgotten the art of patience. We're a good side with good, motivated players. Our quality will show at some stage and we'll get the results to match. We just need to be patient and be pleased we're remaining hard to beat and picking up points while we tryto find the answer.

I wish I shared your optimism, and genuinely hope I am talking bollocks. I can only say it as I see it week in week out. In the meantime I'll happily lie on the floor and make myself available for a kicking for being so negative. Just form an orderly queue there...

Just bought new shoes so I'll pass up the kicking. I don't think the problem is that Ba and Cisse can't play together - - it's that at the moment Cisse can't play at all. I expect that this will change.

Or be relegated. Both equally likely this season.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned the flaw in this - hasn't Carroll already played for 2 clubs this season? So wouldn't be allowed to play for a third?

Either way, I reckon Demba will stay 'til at least next summer based on what he (not his agents) has said.

If you look at the two clubs right now I'd say Newcastle have just as much chance of a trophy.

In fact if your looking at it like I gamble then Newcastle must be due a hand soon.

We've been due a hand for about 40 odd years though!

I think you'd have to say Liverpool are more likely to win something. Particularly as they did so pretty recently!
