Fortune favours the brave Blue. Best of luck mate.

Bed time, hope the winners come thick and fast.

Just watched the replay of The New One winning the opener at Newton Abbot - looks a decent recruit and certainly one to keep on the right side of. Maybe a very early marker for the Supreme Novices hurdle? Can imagine the Twister will try and get a few runs into him this side of Christmas then put him away for the better ground and Cheltenham.

I thought it was a good solid debut (comparing it to that thing that AP rode for Lawney Hill on Saturday it looked a brilliant recruit) and I would like to see him at HQ as soon as they get the right Novice Hurdle in the early season. I liked the way he clearly has a good cruising speed and went through the ground with relish. I wouldn't be surprised to see him entering some good novice hurdles before Christmas.

Jump City was impressive too, if only at a more modest level. I liked the way he finished the race and the way he jumped the last pair.

The British Horse Racing Authority published their 2013 fixture list on Monday, with 1,464 fixtures set to be staged in England next season.

The total number of fixtures will be up from 2012, to 1,464 (from 1,456). The total is comprised of 890 flat races and 574 jump fixtures.

Paul Bittar, chief executive of the BHA, told the Racing Post: "The BHA's responsibility is to provide a framework of fixtures that enables British racing to fulfill its commercial potential while driving our international position of delivering high-quality racing of great variety throughout the calendar year.

One of the notable changes is the date of the Investec Oaks (Eng-I), which will be run on May 31 next year.

    Oh and no hereford

Looks like no Danedream in the Arc

A horse in Cologne has had a blood test return positive for infectious anemia. Everything horse related on hold for 3 months meaning Danedream will not be able to travel - such a shame :(

Cheers Dan, very interesting to see the Welsh National moved for the TV audience.

RV, that is a shame, you want the best to turn up at the Arc. Sad to see her not take part.

Terrible luck. I guess the bookies will not refund ante post bets, that's a crying shame. Bookies always benefit from such things <grr> ps not had a penny on her
