My son's birthday today. I thought it would be nice to get his name mentioned etc on the big screen at half time tomorrow night at the Birmingham game. Just spoken to the ticket office today and guess what, they make a charge of £15 for doing that. Unvelievable, surely as a gesture of goodwill and with the amount of money we all spend of match days that could be done as a freebie. Anybody else experienced that?
these are the sorts of things i dont understand why the club charges for this. one of them is clearly that with 20,000 + fans there are an awful lot of birthdays and they wouldnt have enough time to do them and the £15 is a barrier to keep the numbers a bit lower. however, it makes zero difference to the club if they say read 10 each match then thats 230 * 15 = roughly £3k. however you piss off a fan like you and its not the money i'm guessing, purely that they have the cheek to charge it, a bit like 'booking fees' its not the amount of money, just the principle. as i said, i think its a barrier to keep numbers low..
Milford, more importantly, you got his birthday mentioned on here (for free). Happy Birthday to little Milford!
i cant believe they charge tbh>>>>shocking stuff by our club, fking hell dont they milk us enough without charging for a birthday display aswell....ffs init HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 LITTLE MILFORD .............senior milford i bet his socks are like paper mache at this age>>>>>>>i well remember my days of man youth,i`d have 2 crack open the curtains in the morning
aber, i dont think its the money as such, its just that they want to limit the amount of birthdays they read out, and its one way of reducing it to a more manageable level..... imagine it was free and you had say 50 requests and you could only read out 5, do you just draw the 5 out of a hat and say to the others 'tough luck'?
Swampy - fair play for your answer to Aber, but I was more interested in his reference to stains on the bedroom wallpaper....... My mum didn't need to starch the sheets...................
swamp im sure they can set a speed 2 display 50 names in 15mins at half time>>>>>>>>>sparkey how things change mind init,im onto starching vests now .....is that an age thing or just natural progression
More like natural projection.......... Lack of "throw" means my underpants take a pasting these days mate..........
>....underspants!!!!funny u should say that sparkey ...turn em inside out and the misses doesnt know a thing .....i think
Steady on Aber - you'll get us banned!............hang on though - this is the Cardiff board not Jackban City - I think we're OK.........
Happy Birthday (not so little) Milford from me too.......I guess he might be bigger than his father even! I suspect CCFC are damned if they do charge and buggered if they don't. Be fair.... other than it's little Milford, would anyone like to spend half time watching the names scroll down? And it would not be very special either if you had to hunt for your name passing amongst a host of others.
I know, lets adopt the American approach. Every time there's a break in play, 'here's a birthday message for one of our supporters'. By extending a 90 minute game to 5 hours there'd be plenty of time!!!!!! Or maybe not.
