What sort of line up would you play against Bordeaux?

There's no way we can hope to scrape through with an average line up, like we did against Atromitos and Maritimo.

We need to play a strong team, as they're around the same quality as we are, and in better form. They raped Brugge and it's not because Brugge were ****. Bordeaux are a good side.

This is a home tie, so we need to go for it.

    I'd play -

    ------Cisse-------Shola----------

    -----------Cabaye--------------

    -------Perch--Bigi--Jonas-----------

    Ferguson--Colo---Saylor------Anita

    ------------Harper-----------------

Cabaye's problem were just his wisdom teeth, so surely that'll get sorted soon?

I'd play Colo if he's fit, and Saylor. Bordeaux have powerful players up front. Diabate can be a nightmare. He's like a black Fellaini/Shola cross.

I'd play a 4-3-1-2. Long to Shola, and get Cabaye in space to create chances.

Can't see AP risking players like Saylor, Colo with Man Un next up.

    Elliot

    Tavernier. Perch. Williamson Ferguson.

    Obertan. Bigi. Anita. Marveaux.

    Shola. Cisse.

    Elliot
    Perch
    Fergie
    Willo
    Tav
    Anita
    Bigi
    Abeid
    Amalfitano
    Obertan
    Shola

Vuckic, Gosling, Harper, Sammy, Campbell, Marveaux, Good

Then Man U will hopefully be:

    Krul

    Saylor
    Colo
    Tiote
    Cabaye
Jonas (or Fergie if 442 direct like last year)
    Benni
    Ba
Cisse (or Shola if 442 direct like last year)

I actually hope we play a our best side as we need to get a win and some confidence in the team! if we play a poor side and don't do well it's pointless. If we play a week side do well and lose to Man United anyway it's pointless so lets ust deal with it.

You've clearly got no idea of what we're up against. That side would get pulverised.

And Obertan will bring nothing to this game. Bordeaux are a quality side. Obertan can beat players at certain levels, but I don't see him effecting this game one bit, if he starts.

Obertan will definitely play Tash, Pardew isn't going to start him in the league just yet so Europe is his only potential game time. I personally hope come the end of the season that Obertan, Marveaux, Gosling & Williamson are no longer NUFC players.

Guys, please... at least watch Youtube videos. I've seen this side play, and we'll get arse raped if we play a weaker side.

I'm not saying play a full starting 11, but we need something quite close to that to get a result. They are definitely gonna be our rivals in this group, so we need to win this game at home.

Just watched the Bordeaux game on tv. Look a really decent side. Beat Lyon 2-0 away. Going to be a tough game like. I hope pardew gets the balance right and doesn't just throw a team full of kids on. It's all well and good giving them game time to gain experience but to get better they would benefit from Playing with our better players. Otherwise, a player who shines playing on our "reserve" team could end up looking like a fish out of water when he is called upon

I may have just totally invented this, but wasn’t Obertan considered a hot prospect in the French leagues after some decent performances? And wasn’t that enough for Sir Alex, no less, to shell out some fruitless coppers on him?

The point is, he hasn’t ever improved, just looks slightly more alien-like… or alien-ated, if you will… Egro, in what I’m increasingly concerned might become what I’ll term for now “Pardew-land”, that means it’s his level and he will terrorise them like War of the Worlds all over again…

Overall though, I hope it’s more a combination of experience and youth, but still mainly youth and reserve. We have some big fixtures coming up in the league, and due to karma’s beautiful wrath we have enough players out injured, with the current crum of comfort that the ones who aren’t knocking down the physio’s door are getting some “excellent” ref calls…

In all honesty, I think Obertan is going to start. The French league play, he's familiar with it and he'll be more motivated to show how far he's come along to the French, and that would be enough for AP to pick him considering he's one of the first few subs... I hope Fergie starts, as for CB I have no idea. I am worried about CB. Willo may be playing his what 6th game in 2 weeks?? So too Perch? This is worrying, we are stretched thin, all because of the board refusing to shell out a few extra pounds to grab Debuchy/a RB.

I know exactly what we're up against. They are a good side, its just the Man U game is far far more important. We want to be as fresh as possible and at full strength. The EL is bottom of the priority list. Personally I hope we play the side I listed above and fingers crossed we can nick something. As it is I suspect Pards will play a mixture of first team players and reserves. I think Shola might start against Man U and expect we'll go direct. That being the case I think Cisse will play on Thursday.

I'm biased here as I'm not that arsed about the EL this year.

As for the comments on Obertan, he will definitely start. Big game for him against his old club, he'll be massively keen to do well.

    Elliot:

    Anita - Tav - Colo/Perch - Fergie

    Ober - Tiote - Bigi - Marvea

    Shola - Cisse

I'd give Tiote and Cisse and run because I think they both need sharpening up. Sub Tiote at the hour mark, and Cisse if he looks like he is showing some form. Colo if it is deemed therapeutic, Perch otherwise. The rest are self explanatory: goodish players who will benefit from competitive matches, and who would not be expected to start against Man U.

haha seriously Tash, your line up has Saylor and Colo in it who are both injured. Therefore I would bet my line up is closer than yours.

Try telling me I don't know what im talking about again and I'll go Mr Tiote vs Sky Dish on your ass fella.
