Racing today from Epsom, Musselburgh and Curragh on the flat and Clonmel over the jumps.

I'm really interested in Sea Of Thunder (4.35 Clonmel) tackling fences for the first time today. He looked an awesome prospect in a Grade 2 novices hurdle at Cheltenham last December, cruising to the front and powering up the hill before getting the last hurdle all wrong and falling. He proved no match for the best staying novice hurdlers after that but he always looked a chasing type and never seemed to take hurdles too seriously - he was never what you would call fluent at them. Assuming he's been well schooled for this and shows his fences respect, I think we could have a very exciting novice chaser on our hands here and it will be fascinating to see if he can get the better of the more experienced Catcherinscratcher.

Edit: Price between 13/8 and 15/8 looks a bit skinny so I'll double him up with Battle Of Marengo in the Beresford.

    Best of luck everyone <ok>

Quiet today!! Stunning golf at the Ryder Cup last night and if Europe can grasp the nettle early we might have a wonderful final day on our hands. I hope they can find some magic and make a huge fist of it for the late great Seve.

3 lays have gone up on the Lay King thread today <ok>

<cheers> lads, apart from one serious mistake I thought Sea Of Thunder made a very nice debut. Definitely one to watch. I'm in the UK and put my bet on in Ladbrokes so no BOG. He was 13/8 when I put the bet on and I didn't take the price <doh>

Have just laid the yanks on the exchanges and put some loose pennies on the draw at 20/1.

The Lay King strikes again! <cracker>

Thankfully when Molinari bunkered the 18th, the draw was available to lay at 1.25 so I laid it off just incase he prevailed and thankfully I did because he managed it! So I got a nice profit in the end!

Laid the yanks at 1.17 in running at that point. Absolutely magical golf and surely Seve's spirit was behind that comeback. It all began with Ian Poulter last night and the momentum just continued.

I watched a fantastic piece on Sky Sports this morning on Seve Ballesteros. One point stuck in my mind and almost moved me to tears. It was Nick Faldo reminiscing about Seve. For me Nick is one of the coldest, stern-faced golfers I have seen. But he referenced the moment when his natural competitiveness against Seve became a bond. Seve said 'Nick, we should be friends'. Faldo burst into tears and whispered "He was just a kid".

It was only then I truly understood what he means to these European players.

    An absolutely historic evening.

    Great shouts guys.

What a finish and what a putt from Kaymer....once a major champion always a major champion.

Good shout Tiger!..not for draw punters!...I wouldn't have given that putt to a Molinari!!..is he insane?..simply pissed the great one was.

Great to see the boys playing in the blue v necks of the Maestro on such a day.

Absolutely delighted for Chema...a fellow Basque.

So proud as a European golfer.

What a quality guy Davis Love is...so generous in defeat and remembering the Maestro on this day.

    Class act.

Our victory was down to Pouter and that unreal finish last night...lower on talent than most but huge on spirit.

    Very true Toppy.

Seve videos have been used to motivate the team as well..remember him playing Tom Lehman and getting beaten but on the front nin ehe hit ho fairways and no greens in reg and was only one down!!

Tbh wasn't mad about the Amreican crowds but they aren't really proper golf fans...more Cubs and Bears etc but were quick to leave when the going got tough.

So,no one from the area,no idea about the sport, leave early when up against it..if Old Trafford could host a Ryder Cup...

Last golfing comment on racing thread.

*****merie said that when Seve walked into the room you knew he there even with your back turned.

The Maestro had that aura...just like Tiger and Nicklaus.

I love Woods, not the man but his excellence on a golf course...greatest ever and my favourite sportsman.

    Peerless.
