I felt we were still poor today. Better than against WHU but lacking creativity. If they'd kept 11 on the field I'd have feared for the result. JM's mis-hit shot and Fletcher's superb reaction goal have painted over some worrying cracks. Hope as the season progresses, we do as well...up the pitch a bit more often! However, 3 points are 3 points and only us, Chelsea and Man City are unbeaten this season!!!

Tell you one thing Phil. Those cracks may have disappeared with a tackling midfielder in the first half. We had nothing in front of the back 4. Colbacks worst 45 minutes in a SAFC shirt for a long time IMO.

The hope never dies, but the expectation gets a little less year on year.

Once Bardsleys back Gardner can move back into central mid. Johnsons still finding his feet aswell. Don't panic were still gelling as a team and were still unbeaten!

Can't move Gardner from RB atm, he is solid tbf to him, plus he helps up the wing...

Bardsley has a hard job getting in atm if you ask me, Gardner and Rose are doing a fine job

I agree they are but due to our lack of options in midfield I'd like to see him there with Catts or Colback, it is his natural position after all.
I'm a big fan of Bardo aswell, he gives his all in every match!

There were signs of improvement today, McLean was better, as was Sess, although both still have much more to give.

Some tough games coming up, the time is now for the lads to step up, 2 wins in a week and 7 unbeaten for the season, and the pressure of the winless run lifted.

    All good <ok>

Imagine if we played our game in hand this week & won, Wed be up there, in a position we are capable of finishing the season. I just think once confidence grows we will get better. If we can beat the mags we could go on to have a great season.
I just can't establish if its our poor ball retention or its the way MON has set the team to play.

Not having a pop at the lad cos i think he (Colback) is a good player but today he was poor and i couldn't understand why MON never replaced him with Meyler or Vaughan. Jack did get better when Vaughan came on but he never looked comfortable in the holding role.
McClean needs to up his game as well, he only came alive when we changed our shape after their sending off.

Defensively we were solid and Mig was superb, Larsson was canny as was F;etcher but otherwise we were poor in midfield and if we perform the same way next week, we'll get slaughtered.

Not great but, we won so not too bothered about the performance if we had been beaten today then it would be a different matter. Colback had a bad game (cue Colback out thread) yesterday and looked totally lost as the holding CM he did get better later on in the game mind. Worrying thing for me is the lack of goals we need to start scoring 2 before going on the counter as teams will leave gaps for us to exploit, a wins a win lads we move on to City where in all honesty it could go either way 4-4 draw or a 5-4 defeat even a sneaky 0-1 win for us stranger things have happened.

We have Vaughan, Meyler and Larsson who can play CM so I wouldn't say we are lacking, although his natural position I think he has played better at RB
I do like bardo, he plays his heart out but I think it's time we had to improve on him, get more of a wing back character, someone bombing up

Their spawny luck is still holding.
    Ba scores a brilliant goal.
The skunks are still deservedly going to lose, so what happens?
Ba THROWS the ball in the net!
Neither linesman or ref sees it.
    Lucky bastards.
