I note what Beth mentioned about first 'love' being one of the strongest emotions you can have, particularly young girls and this case is probably very much along those lines. The young girl was obviously so besotted that all logical thinking goes out the window. The teacher is still very much the guilty party though. On the evolution of this thread regarding the 'homosexual gene', it is unlikely from what I have encountered over the years. My ex used to be a dog groomer and we used to show dogs in the 80s and the dog world is rife with gays. We used to own our own grooming shop and some of the boys that worked for us were openly gay as it went with the territory. Several of them were good friends of ours and they would talk of their 'experiences' and why they were gay. Some said it was their first experience that shaped their sexuality, one other said he always felt feminine. Like heteros, there are different types. I always found them to be good company and once they knew you weren't interested in them but treated them as normal human beings they would be fine and I always enjoyed being in their company. The attitude to them at that time was dreadful as AIDS had turned them into pariahs for a time, so they appreciated the 'support' of 'straights' greatly. I've always believed in whatever you do in private with a consenting adult is your own business, end of. It's a shame even in these enlightened times that some people have a 'neanderthal' view of life...
Well said Sooper. Seen a couple of docs over the years focusing of the gay phenomenon in most animals, not just dogs. Also your take on gay people is very similar to my own. Sounds patronising and a bit cliched but out gay men often make great company at work, social events and so on. Dunno whether it's genetic or not but like you said, who cares what people do as long as it's between consenting adults and doesn't intrude on others.

Look I am still far more upset about Jimmy Saville, rather than what two consenting adults who love each other (or lust-each-other in somecases...true of heteros as well as homosexuals) do in the privacy of their own rooms.
