But they are only the broker Won't say I told you so (eh Simon and Eire) but you should start looking at them in a bit more detail
Sorry to dissappoint TC but its all good. Won't forget you when we're back in the cl though. You lads will always be welcome to drop in for a cup of tea and a chat
Eire - At least you'll have something in common with Manchester United now - both owners borrowed the money to buy their clubs http://www.ifre.com/bahrain-investors-mull-financing-to-buy-leeds-united/21043666.article
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ited-takeover-complete.html?ito=feeds-newsxml want to buy back ER and they feel Bates has done a decent job, that is probably PR talk to ensure this goes through smoothly (Bates comment)
Will they invest in buying elland rd? Will we find out who owns elland rd? Because it's not bates? can't be!
Seen one report that states Bates will get £25m and another £25m is set to be used as investment as in buying ground, players etc - All rumours and stabs in the dark...
Wrong again TC. GFH Capital are the brokers, Gulf Finance House are leading the bid on the behalf of individual investors, because it's what they do. The fact GFH Capital may be the ones involved in the day to day running of the club (what I had assumed anyway tbh, think David Haigh will be chairman) doesn't change this.
Tweets from Phil Hay: 24m Phil Hay ‏@PhilHayYEP He also said that GFH chairman Esam Yousif Janahi is independently wealthy and could be funding the takeover from his own pocket. #lufc 27m Phil Hay ‏@PhilHayYEP He believes private investors must be financing this takeover deal since GFH have around $5m in liquid cash to work with. #lufc 28m Phil Hay ‏@PhilHayYEP I've spoken at length this morning to someone who knows the intimate details of Gulf Finance House's business. #lufc
Even though you may be right, my feet are well off the ground, and I will take the risk of a bad landing
Simon - 5 mil in cash....that's it. just hope whoever is buying the club is doing so with their own cash not not a loan.
Good scenario, is rich investor who realises Leeds are a sure fire bet to bring him the entertainment, praise and financial returns for as little as 60 million pounds. Likely scenario the club may be used to finance player investments, given the rewards for getting into the Premiership next season it might be worth it. I think its out of our hands so lets relax and enjoy it. Worse case scenario, we end up with Bates still in charge (with another "Unkonwn" group owning us).
or bates will keep ER and rent it to new owners at ramped up silly prices, it will be his last belligerent stance.
Didn't Ridsdale teach us anything? No matter who the owners are, we must always consider things dispassionately to guarantee the long term future of our great club. LUST is of the utmost importance in going forward
I agree, Sheldon ........... but... chill out a bit. we are supposed to enjoy being fans, not spend our lives deluged by paranoia I am choosing to enjoy the thought that - just possibly - better times are imminent. I am not going to ruin the enjoyment by worrying this may be a Portsmouth. (being as objective as I can, I am expecting neither a Man C nor a Portsmouth). If it goes tits up I will cope (had plenty of practice, after all) Yes LUST still have a role, to keep a fans focus on what really is happening. I see no reason - if the leadership of LUST are up to the job and want to do it (I wouldn't) - why LUST don't have a long term existence now, there is a need for a focused independent fans organisation that is supportive and understanding, but also objective and independent.
