To be honest this site is losing it's appeal for me more each day and I don't feel it's anything to do with the way it's been run.
It feels like a school yard on here sometimes with nonsense arguments about who said what and who got away with calling someone something when others have had warnings for something else.
It's like "please sir, Billy called me a moron and I had detention last week for calling him a cnut". How is it possible for a mod to be impartial when things are done and said in different contexts?
You get others then who won't talk to other posters over arguments that have gone on since probably the old 606.
Ffs it's pathetic, it's just a football forum, most of us don't know each other personally and probably never will, so why get offended by anything on here? I've had arguments on here with people, then find myself on another thread at the same time agreeing with that person about something else.
It's all down to common sense, if someone calls you something, make your point back and move on. What's the point in feuding all the time and getting worked up on a bloody football forum??
Anyway, apologies for going on. Rant over.
I may get some incoming, but you know what? I couldn't give a rat's arse :D

I just feel that way too many threads decend into bitchfests. There's just so much complaining going on.

It's symbolic of society - people don't want to take responsibility for their own behaviour and look for who else is to blame.
It's easy to blame moderators, but if people self moderated their comments and showed some respect then there would be very little if any need for them. It's easy to be arrogant and condescending from behind a keyboard.

Agreed Stereo, but there's also a problem of people taking trivial things to heart. I had a heated argument with one of the regulars on here (not mentioning any names) back when on the old 606 in it's final days. He called me things that a dog wouldn't lick and even finished off the post suggesting that I come over to not606 where it's more liberal so that he could make his expletives more clear <laugh> I bit back, that was that and I don't think I've had a crossed word with him since.
Just take it where it comes from, this forum is just points of view, if someone is having a bitch, they're having a bitch at your point of view not you personally as they don't know you personally.
Dai is one of the best posters on here (although I disagree with almost everything he says) he's got his views, he'll stick by them come what may and although he does dish some abuse out at times, he's more than man enough to take it back and move on

OK, a tongue in cheek remark but how much do you feel fans get stressed out now compared to when teams were in the lower divisions, oh and I think the mods job is thankless and anyone doing it deserves support

The mods are doing fine. Remember that it was us who voted them in! We had a vote/debate to decide who to have and these were the guys chosen...by us,those that didn't take part or joined later have to lump it and accept the situation, we don't live in a perfect world !

I had a few issues in the past with a moderator due to him deleting threads without reason, the new mods try their best to keep everyone in the loop nowadays, it's hardly the dictatorship some are making it out to be!

These boys are swans fans trying their best to keep the forum on an even keel, why don't we respect that and stop moaning like a bunch of old women all the time?

Nobody will agree with everything, but WE selected them to do a job (which takes their personal time I might add) and as far as I'm concerned they are doing it well <ok>

Us mods are not here to run the forum. We merely try to ensure everybody is happy, which recently is impossible. We cant be online 24/7, so comments cant be deleted.straight away. Wecant and wont be able to keep everyone happy, but if the infighting was to stop, that would certaintly help.

^^^^^ That is it in a nutshell.

But as we don't live in a perfect world any abusive comments should just be deleted without warning.

I don't post here any more and (to the delight of many) won't do so again - I won't vote either as that seems unfair in the circumstances. But I pop in now and again to see the stuff that's being talked about and had to say something here if that's OK.

Most of us agree that the job of a mod is thankless and sometimes difficult but you will be criticised - sometimes justifiably. If you can't handle that then frankly you shouldn't be doing it.

The problem is bias - or at least, perceived bias. We're all for mods being ruthless, but that power has to be applied even handedly, and if it's not, the members understandably get cheesed off. If you have rules - bloody well apply them to everyone.

The handling of Casual's completely unnecessary ban was appalling and to many reeked of a witch hunt and obvious pay-back. Nothing will change my mind on that and I'm not alone in thinking it either. And this worrying lack of judgment continues. Just contrast Casual's posts with those of Aber, whose musings have always degenerated into bitch-fests, with the principle topics usually being politics, drug use and/or football hooliganism. Just look at the thread he couldn't wait to post on this board for the evidence.

His reinstatement happened because Dilli went over to the Cardiff board and invited him back on . Yes, invited. This is a guy who has actually sent the most abusive PM's I've ever seen to Terrorwit and frequently revels in his 'hard man' persona. Yet this neanderthal is invited back here, Casual is still banned and we lose a valued contributor in Vetchetarian.

It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. Bye bye Not606, I'm sure we won't miss each other, and best wishes to the decent ones here. Thankfully, you still outnumber the idiots. <ok>

My point is that one rules apply to one but not the other. I said my comment should be taken as just a friendly banter yet the subject would not get dropped! the abuse I received was in contrast far more offensive yet no comment or support!

As i said the moderation on here is as inconsistent as the officials at the Everton game:wink:

And still my questions are being diverted<ok>
