I thought the debate was also about the standard of refereeing and how managers are maybe trying to influence decisions to be more in their favour. Anyhow lets hope for a good game with no mention of poor refereeing decisions (we live in hope eh?)
guys... dalglish tried this on last year and what happened???? rodgers should focus onthe team not making stupid mistakes to give goals away.... he should then make a black list of refs who will have cold water and only one lightbulb in the changing room... it should be a well known fact that ANY REF DARING TO PULL A WEBB OR HALSEY WILL GET THE GUANTANAMO TREATMENT. refs who play fair or better yet favour us should get ferrero roches serves on a silver platter.
What irritates me about Suarez is half the time when somebody performs a good tackle and also takes him down (fair challenge) he complains that he should have been given a free kick. That probably irritates referrees too who then don't give decisions in his favour when they should be.
the best way to improve the standard of refereeing would be along with increased accountability to get rid of the stupid rule that means they have to be british/english, we should be trying to attract the best refs regardless of nationality
I think a bot of tradition is good, but I do partly agree with you to. Any foreign refs would have to have excellent fluent English. Refs in this country are not just refs though. Howard Webb is a Police Officer. Refereeing is their hobby not their career.
The best way to ensure there is equity and fair play amongst referees, is to ban them if they ever become Manchester United employees like,Wiley,Webb,Mason,Halsey and Dowd.
I think its the rule, otherwise there would surely be good refs from smaller european countries coming to work in the premier league. I also seem to remember there being talk of the rules being bent so collina could come and referee here because the italian leagues retirement age is a few years younger than it is over here
Def poor standard of refereeing, always happens at start of season but getting worse, consistency the main problem. Tbf u should watch some lower league games to see that they are the best refs in the country in the prem but that is the problem. I do believe utd get more decisions for a whole host of reasons, but they have earnt that right just like we got decisions in the eighties and seventies, as much as i dislike him due to his position whatever af says will hold weight we have to live with that he wont be there forever and i do think at some point they will suffer because of af when he moves on, it will be like open season, will have to wait and see.

I see Fergie was today 'advising' JT to drop any thoughts of appealing his punishment and to move on. Funnily enough Terry's ban covers the League and League Cup games between the sides.
Lord Ferg is already planning Terrys departure from the game and into the seedy world of late night Poker TV hosting Matter of time
Then if they had to discipline them the Uruguayan ref would be sanctioned twice the amount of two English refs combined for the same offence.
Christ is Rodgers that desperate that he is trying to get help from the head of the referees society. We all know that Saurez only just missed out on selection for the Uruguayan Olympic diving team.
Its still a mystery how diving expert Ashley Young didn't get selected. Then again neither did Wayne ''I'm an honest player'' Rooney.
