Well well. If that is correct then it will be a massive shake up of the grid next year, especially if Massa is dumped by Ferrari as well. From Hamilton's point of view, why not move? Change is good sometimes and if he felt he was getting a bit stale in the Whitmarsh Buttonfuckfest that appears on the cameras every week then this may rejouvinate him.
Now who's going to replace him at McLaren is my next thought. Im glad he's moved. It'll really shake things up now and although I've got mixed feelings im already going over lots of questions in my head and im enjoying the prospect of what's to come. So,what are you thoughts...
@Caesar ok thanx for that mate. I didn't know but just seen it mentioned on the news. Westcoastbugaloo ...fair enough...Will stick with the thread you mention..no big deal FFS. keep yer pants on eh.. First thread so don't know how to delete...Will try and nip back to cta ...all good
Firstly, wow! I never thought Hamilton would actually go, but I'm glad he has as silly season can truly begin with earnest now. And, if Perez has signed for Mclaren, they've moved very quickly, and have either paid a fortune or talked Perez out of his connection to Ferrari. Giving JB a team-mate who is also easy on his tyres means Mclaren can design their car to suit both drivers more easily than with a LH/JB combination too. Also, having Perez lined up that quickly gives me the impression that this has been a done deal for a while, Mclaren just wanted to get a replacement in before the media went truly mental.
Will be great to watch Perez at McLaren. Cited by so many as the star of the future a comparison to Jenson is a great way to prove it.
still awaiting further confirmation, but if he does go to mercedes eddie jordan really knows is stuff!
awwwwwwwwwwwww yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Now that was something awsome to wake up too. Cheers for the Iceman for letting me talk about Hamilton going to Mercedes on his laptop Thanks to Schumacher for the 3 years of service to try and bring back up the legendary team, but after watching these 3 years I think it was a big ask as he was looking like he was coming to a downward trend. Lewis now being "Number 1" from the start also pleases me as that's the same **** Fangio used to get and that worked very well! Rosberg I would like to think is a WDC waiting to get out of a "alright driver" going up against Lewis after beating schumacher 3 years running will put some rumours to rest I believe. If Nico can beat Lewis then he should get some ego boost and even more respect rather than the excuse that Schmacher was just past it etc... Guess next year at Silverstone will be 60-70% full of lovely Silverarrow fans lol! Mercedes coming back baby! WOOOOOH!
yes yes yes! Lewis to the Silverarrows, and Perez to McLaren. My favorite team gets a top 3 driver and my other favourite driver apart from Seb is going to McLaren! This must mean Seb is really going to Ferrari in 2014! Roll on the ****storm the silverarrows are coming to get you!
Wow such a surprise, everyone was saying that he will stay at mclaren except EJ. I cant blame him, mclaren have had the best car by far and have made far too many mistakes on his side of the garage. Wheres that photoshop picture of Lewis in mercedes gear? Thats what we need to see right now
I've got mixed feelings but overall I think it is a good move for him, shame to see the all Brit line up go but I think that is all I miss. Still going to stay a McLaren fan and still going to be a Lewis fan. Good luck Lewis and good luck Sergio if rumours are to be believed
The more I looked at it the more I thought it made sense for Lewis to make the move. It makes sense from a Mercedes point of view and it allows Hamilton the Schumacher treatment which will suit him, because one gets the feeling that's what he expected the last two years at Mclaren, and was thoroughly rattled by Button. Next season will be interesting then, 5 former WDCs in 5 different cars.
Well that was a surprise but I think an interesting result and certainly will shake it all up. I think Lewis is finally maturing, this is like leaving home for him and I am sure he needs a new challenge. Banish the old ghosts. Hope he remembers that he has to leave his past behind too, sometimes you carry your baggage with you but it doesn't appear for a season or two. I think Mercedes will want to make this truely successful though, top class driver, only the team can let them down now. Lewis will most likely be back on winning form by the end of next season and challenging for the championship in 2014. Meanwhile, I am sure McLaren have had some difficult moments with Lewis and I suspect team morale has been impacted by some of Lewis's rants. Will McLaren lose their way with a customer engine, perhaps not the fastest drivers, but good, or will Jenson feel fired up to step into the shoes that Lewis had, albeit I am sure he won't see it that way, 2 seasons completed, 1 all between him and Lewis. What will the next 6 races bring, Jenson took No 1 to Mclaren might Lewis earn an extra bonus at Mercedes taking No 1 there?
