Refreshingly honest insider's take on how the rot set in that led to the disintegration of City's Premiership status. Eliminate that one incident at Man City and perhaps things might have been so different.....

I didn't really like him since that interview he gave blaming everyone but himself for our relegation. It was very distasteful. He wasn't that good as a player for us either - started off well but at the end of the first season once he'd played a lot of games he was ****e.

The one that was edited to remove the bit where he'd included himself as one of the players?

Maybe, but how are we to know?

Regardless of what was edited out, he still blamed the manager among others and you expect better from a senior player.

It was the manager's fault as Phil Brown turned into the biggest egotistical prick in English football and the players lost all faith in him.

Maybe, but that's a different issue for a different day.

What George did was unprofessional and disrespectful to his employers and team mates, he couldn't wait to say it, he came out with it less than half an hour after we went down.

It may have been frustration and he may ultimately have been correct (we will never fully know), but I lost respect for him that day and I know a few others did too.

It is all however a matter of opinion, if you liked George and hated Brownie then George probably went up in your estimation for saying it, like I said it's all just opinions.

George proved that Browny had lost the dressing room

He proved he'd lost one player, George didn't speak for everyone nor could he.

I think it was fairly obvious that Browny lost more than George

Possibly, but you can't be naive enough to think that's the only reason we went down.

We didnt even go down the season Browny did the on pitch talk. IIRC we got spanked at home by Sunderland the week before, and only narrowly lost to Villa the week after through a Zayatte special.

We went down because we werent a good enough team, not because of a teamtalk.

A professional should always give his best. It's ok to dislike the manager, but to disrespect the club and the fans by not not trying you best,is just ****ty !

Professional footballers have big ego's and if they are damaged by your manager then I would think it's pretty hard to get the players to perform
