Jack Cork ‏@jackcork1 Another 4-6 weeks, with my left knee. Lucks just not going my way this season. Could be worse, but was so close to getting back from the ankle Gutted
Disappointing, but not the end of the world. The progress of Ward-Prowse and the signing of Davis means he won't be particularly missed. He's going to find it very difficult to get back into the starting XI.
Kris Temple of BBC Radio Solent: I can safely predict that @jackcork1 might be getting a phonecall from Nigel Adkins in the near future #tweetpolice #Saintsfc
It is a shame as he had looked good until going off after he had taken the knock. Hopefully this will be the last time this season and he can soon get back to playing for us.
Always a shame when a player is close to returning from an injury & picks up another one. Glad we have Davis, Ward prowse and an on form Punch, all fit to play & fill the gap Cork leaves
In pre-Everton press conference, Nigel made a remark about a certain GK informing the world he was playing on Saturday on twitter. Definitely doesn't like info being released on twitter. Can see Jack sitting outside Cortese's office in the morning Nigel also said that Cork will be stronger after these injuries. Always positive. Can just hear the following conversation: Cork: Gaffer, my leg has just fallen off. NA: Never mind...you'll save on the cost of socks.
Schneiderlin's a different class; I don't think there's much between Cork, Davis and JWP. Cork's game is almost identical to JWP, I think Cork would be on the bench if he wasn't injured.
Not a devastating blow but a blow all the same. Depth is underrated, and whilst we are already strong at centre mid another quality player is never something to be sniffed at and forgotten about because 'we can cope without him'. Might not even get in the starting XI if he was fit, but the United game proved that sometimes it takes 14 players to win a game, imagine if we had him on with some fresh legs with 20 minutes to go to get up in Scholes' business? Sooner we get him back the better!
Cork played every game last year don't forget (and still didn't score), so he's no Kieron Dyer. He will be devastated to get this setback but I am sure he will play a big part for us in the second half of the season.
Cork is such a great player, I remember his performance against Leeds at home last season, he was everywhere! Great observation from Mikey up there, I think that a fit Cork would have made a huge, huge difference against United and City. I was crying out for us to close down Scholesy more quickly!
He wasn't against Arsenal! I am also worried about his recent prediliction to turn blindsided with the ball when under pressure; cannot afford to lose possession just ahead of the defence.
He has been the last two home games I've been to. No one was that good from what I heard from that match.
Cork will be as fit as a butcher's dog come Christmas and blow the opposition away. Does this sound suitably Adkinsesque?
Sorry CwoH2O, but not at all Adkins like. More like MotoGP commentator Charlie Cox [Aragon GP this weekend - Yippee..!]. Adkins wouldn't use fit as a butcher's dog, as a cliché, it's too base for him. He'd say that Cork's latest MOT showed that his numbers were good and that he's very close. He'd just had a great week in training, working very, very [always two very's] hard to get back into contention for selection.
