Hey Peeps, Put the Champagne on ice boys n girls, the takeover is upon us; and who said it wouldn't happen (me for one). Maybe Millwall could become our feeder club, instead of us giving them players we don't want anymore Bahrain's Gulf Finance House have confirmed that its subsidiary in Dubai, GFH Capital, has signed an exclusive agreement to "lead and arrange" the takeover of Leeds United Football Club How are we all going to celebrate this amazing news? We have drawn Southampton at Elland Road in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup. The Saints beat Sheffield Wednesday at St Mary’s in round 3 while the Whites beat Everton 2-1 at Elland Road to set up the tie. The game will be played week commencing October 29. The draw in full is: Sunderland v Middlesbrough Swindon v Aston Villa Wigan v Bradford Leeds v Southampton Norwich v Tottenham Liverpool v Swansea Chelsea v Man Utd Reading v Arsenal AN EVERTON FC supporters’ group lodged an official complaint with Leeds United after seven people were arrested at the Blues’ away game this week. West Yorkshire police clashed with some fans chanting “police murderers” and “justice for the 96” after Everton’s 2-1 defeat to Leeds in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
I think Millwall will soon be one of several feeder clubs FOR our feeder club - I don't think they will be big enough to be a direct feed.
Morning all-I have a huge smile on my face, but I will restrain myself until the news that Uncle Ken has signed is confirmed! Had my hopes dashed one too many times already! I think the main thing is that it seems the wheels are turning and cant be stopped now-maybe thats why they leaked it Ellland, we are nearly there and there isn't much Bates can bout a story like that. It would show that GFH might be thinking of the Leeds fans sanity and are trying to feed whatever info they can to us. Or maybe its just a huge whoops on their part! Depends on how optimistic you want to be!
Morning all Going to be keeping a very close eye on this today. Im going to an event with free booze tonight, so that's a great potential celebration opportunity!
Morning all from a sunny Calis. Interesting developments on the T/O. But no real change. That said, its still better than it was a couple of weeks ago when LUST proudly claimed that it was dead lin the water. Saints next in the cup. As its at home, we have a fair chance of progression. Keep the faith one & all. MOT
Morning all. Always had total faith it would happen. Good things happen to those who wait, thats us Leeds fans by the way, and God knows weve waited long enough. Could be several trips to Wembley this season and a ****load of beer this weekend
Good call. Has Ken found a pen yet? How did the actual takeover start. Did is have anything to do with LUST?
Morning all Anyone daring to dream yet? Really didn't want Saints in the cup but at least we are at home. If we lose and I am sure Elland feels my pain on this one, its unbearable due to our geographic location! Hopefully we may even have a couple of loanees in by then!
I am going to celebrate today - I have waited long enough. The chance that this outfit would announce this, after all their silence and confidentiality clauses, if there was more than 1 chance in a million it won't happen, is zero.
Brilliant news. Certainly would love to go up before Christmas. Would be great to catch a game, and hit the town with the other Not606ers!!! Morning btw Bucks
On the bbc sportsday - 0849: FOOTBALL The Middle-Eastern investment bank, Gulf Finance House (GFH), confirm they have signed an exclusive agreement to lead a takeover of Championship side Leeds. A letter reveals: "GFH would like to confirm that GFH Capital Limited, a 100% subsidiary of Gulf Finance House, has signed an exclusive agreement to lead and arrange the acquisition of Leeds City Holdings, the parent company of LUFC."
I am really upset that we are losing that great saviour of Leeds United. Ken Bates has given his all for this club and as such deserves praise from all Leeds United fans. His support for the fans, his unstinting support for the managers over the years, his foresight in bringing in the best players and holding on to our stars has been applauded throughout the football world. It is indeed a sad day in the long proud history of this club. . . . . . . Nurse, can I have some more of those happy pills. I am still having nightmares.
