I cant go to the West Ham match as I am away on holiday but i decided to give my ticket to my QPR supporting work mate who doesnt often go. I did ponder on using viagogo but it just didnt sit right with me
Guys Just rang Customer services, after about a 5 min wait - I got through to a service agent who's looking into my problem.... NO I did not use the number given... I alsways use SAY NO TO 0870 numbers website to find a freephone number http://www.saynoto0870.com/ Seriously I would sell my seats at FACE VALUE only, I just want my seats to be used, if I,m unavailable to go... Im down with a serious cold tonight, so dont think Im going to make the Cup game v Reading... poorly Stan
It looks as though it is utterly possible to sell your season ticket through Viagogo even if you are meant to be in the Family Stand and should be taking your kids with you. The case of the two mystery supporters from Nebraska in the Loft shows up the fact that preventing supporters using this stand unless you have registered that you will be bringing kids and juniors is an utter farce. I've long been suspicious that you can sell on a free kids ticket and it looks like this is certainly probable through the Viagogo site. Out of interest how do you get the ticket? Is it a print out that you take to the game with a bar code or some such? Do the stewards or gate staff double check the database to make sure you have not turned up with a Viagogo ticket that is meant to be for a 5 year old Junior Hoop? If there are any QPR supporters who have been given two free season tickets only to sell them on each game, even worse if not face value, then they should be found out by the club and their season ticket removed. Pay them back what ever balance they are owed and put them on a blacklist never to receive an ST again. It sticks in the craw that fellow QPR supporters are making a profit out of other QPR supporters using a site that in turn makes a profit from both. I'd prefer to give my ticket away if I can't get to a game rather than sell it. Not holier than thou, just how it is with me. Have the club issued any formal guidelines as to the selling on of tickets? Can they guarantee that kids and juniors tickets can't be made available for re-sale? I'd certainly feel better about using a third party to sell tickets if there were no loop holes but would much prefer the system that has been mentioned for selling directly back to the club. Not normally a conspiracy theorist nut-job but this has sounded fishy from the start.
Love the way people are saying ripping off a fellow fan......I sold mine for £100 on Viagogo for the Chelsea game as I couldnt make it and it helps me pay back the £750 I pay for the year.....the bloke that bought it was from Canada on his holidays and wanted to watch a "Soccer Game". If fans want to buy tickets at the face value, they can buy from the club in the normal means. Making a profit on something in not ripping somebody off......if someone sets a price for something and another person is willing to buy at that price then a deal is done and both are happy. UpminstR they pay you a day or so after the game into your bank account. Buying a season ticket and sellling every ticket to make a profit is completely different.
If I wanted to go to a particular game and that was the going rate online then yes.....dependant on how desperately I wanted to go and whether I thought the game was worth that. But in essence, my willingness to pay £100+ for a ticket or not is completely irrelevant.....as stated I own the rights to that seat for the season for home games...I can either keep my ticket to myself (or give to a friend) if/when I cant make it which is very rarely, or if somone is willing to pay £100 to take my seat off me, then so be it. I didnt twist anyones arms into paying £100 and if they didnt feel it was worth that value then they wouldnt pay it and it would have remained unsold. Buying a season ticket with the sole purpose of selling each home game for a substantial profit is completely different. What I also find funny is how people take the moral high road when it comes to "their fellow fans" yet most QPR fans talk to each other like sh*t with differing opinions.
Has any real (non-tourist) QPR fan bought a ticket from Viagogo? Just trying to gauge if it is a method of selling tickets to tourists or locals.
I've thought of buying from them, as I have a membership but two of my three sons who are R's fans don't. So until I sort out memberships for them it's the only way we'd get seats together. I would never pay way over the odds for them though.
