Totally bored and lifted this off facebook.

Its always horrible to lose your job, but in football it seem quite a common occurrence. This common occurrence happens mostly in the managerial department, be it through poor performance or unprofessional behaviour, a manager seems to get the sack every year. Lets take a look at who the bookies think is destined for the sack.

    1) Nigel Adkins- 7/4- Southampton

Nigel Adkins knows he is the favorite to get the sack, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t determined to prove his doubters wrong. In charge at oil rich Southampton he needs to get results and fast if he wants to keep hold of his job. He managed to get his first points of the season this weekend, which will help to lengthen his odds but he is still by far the most likely to be shown the door first.

    2) Andre Villas Boas- 6/1- Tottenham

Andre Villas Boas looked like a kid in candy store today after luckily claiming his first home win of the season over QPR. This has done wonders to lengthen his odds but the manager who was hot property a couple of summers ago is still 2nd in the list of likely managers to get the sack after his poor showing at Chelsea last year. Time will tell whether he will work out at Spurs but the signs from the last two games have been positive for AVB.

    3) Mark Hughes- 7/1- QPR

Another manager who will be under pressure due to heavy investment, Hughes is going to need to start to show a return. Players such as Cesar, Bosingwa, Park and Granero don’t come cheap so Hughes is going to have to produce the goods if he wants to save himself the embarrassment of being the first manager to be given the boot. His team have showed a lot of positives signs against some really difficult oppositions early in the season though.

    4) “Big” Sam Allardyce- 10/1- West Ham

West Ham are a team that would like to establish themselves as a Premership club again but if Big Sam doesn’t deliver it could be curtains for him. Luckily for West Ham and most certainly Allardyce, the Hammers have got off to a flying start and have already managed to secure themselves 8 points. I can’t really see Big Sam being the first to get the sack, but maybe the bookies know something I don’t.

    5) Brenden Rodgers- 12/1- Liverpool

I am going to be honest- I was expecting this man to be far higher up on this list. He hasn’t had the best start to his Liverpool career and with owners who have a passion for winning, I really could seeing this man being gone by Christmas. A manager who I feel fit the system at Swansea but doesn’t quite fit into the Liverpool style of play, watch out for him as his odds slowly shorten.

Here are the top 5 manager who are likely to get the sack.

Here's the link for those of you who are on facebook.

I know Liverpool have a history of not sacking managers until they've been given plenty of time, but if we turn them over next week, I think he'll be on very dodgy ground!

How long was Hodgson given? it wasn't that long was it? I thought he had about 10 games, or is my memory playing tricks?

Well, they'll probably be at least 3 go during the season, lets hope we are not one of them.

I hope Liverpool give Rogers the time, he deserves it. My tips to get the boot are (in no particular order)

McDermott (dunno how twitchy the foreign owners maybe), Adkins, Mancini and Allardyce.

As for our own boss, I only think he'll get the sack if a long run of defeats come along.

Personally I've always felt Rodgers has a long term assignment, and will have sold that to the owners. He's building for the future, changing a way of playing, and really his only aim for this season should be to avoid relegation. The clubs transfer policy hasn't helped him, and if they have bought into his long term plan he should at least see the season out. I think QPR really need to get results. I'd hate Southampton to cut their manager loose first, their run of fixtures at the beginning of the season was awful, it's no surprise it took them so long to get points.

In terms of Saturdays game, our chances are getting better and better with each injury! Kelly is definitely out, I've read rumours Agger is out for the season, and Borini picked up a knock against United too. Sure, they'll still have dangerous players, as Suarez has proved, and Gerrard had a decent game, but a backline including Carragher will be less solid, so hopefully we can at least get on the scoresheet.

i cannot understand the adkins thing. what a fantastic job he has done there! their owner is trying to sprint the hundred metre final at the olympics before he can even crawl. hopefully they won't get rid. personally think its a shoe in that it'll be either big sam at west ham or hughes at qpr - wouldn't be at all surprised to see a certain 'arry redknapp end up in either of those jobs. i think lambert will be given the season minimum - same with rodgers. no threat on hughton in my opinion - i think even if we go down he'll be here. i think he was appointed with that in mind as he's done a good job in the championship so if push comes to shove and we go down, he'd be the right man to take us back up again.

Agree with the Adkins thing, really should be given the whole season as reward for what he has done thus far. Also inclined to agree Mark Hughes could face the axe, as did Neil Warnock if they find themselves in the same position at the end of December as it will have shown real signs of real progress although I still think they will be okay, just not as okay as I originally thought they would be.

I think the bigger the club the more pressure and the more likely.
Rodgers is a defintie possibility and AVB for sure. I also think Mancini with the talent he has, tactically he is hopeless at times. And yes Lambert, why not?

What would be the sense in sacking Adkins? Will a club of Saints size be able to attract better? It could happen but I don't see it and it would also be criminal to sack the bloke whose hard work and talent got them where they are now. Same goes for Reading although remote foreign owners are not reknowned for their patience. I can see PL being in trouble if Villa don't pick up and given their squad I can only see them struggling - Rogers will be under huge pressure if he goes another two or three without a win as their season in terms of a Champions League place will be done and dusted and leave Liverpool with only the cups to play for. Whilst I think that their board are realistic enough not to expect Champions League qualification this year I think that they would expect to be in contention until the spring rather than having their end of season party and Christmas party at the same time.

It is media nonsense with no foundation.

Southampton were the 7th biggest spenders in the whole of Europe this summer with a net spend of over £30 million. They haven't given Adkins that amount of money to play with only to sack him weeks later after successive promotions. Plus they are currently carrying out a £15 million improvement on their training ground.

Not sure what "would a club the size of Southampton be able to attract better" is meant to mean.

    - Large modern stadium of 32,000 that the owners are looking to expand to 50,000 and have revealed early initial plans.
    - Average crowds of over 30,000
    - £15 million of improvements to the training ground currently underway
    - The best academy in England according to the EPPP category 1 auditors
    - Estate of a billionaire with a £30 million net spend this summer in the transfer market.
    - 7th largest net spend in the whole of Europe this summer and only beaten by Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd in England.

If that doesn't make for an attractive club to manage I don't know what would!

I cannot recall a more reluctant appointment of a manager than Di Matteo by Abramovich. Will he last the season before he is sacked to make way for Guardiola? Bizarrely might he be up for the sack if Chelski start well as even Abramovich will not want to provoke the fans by sacking Di Matteo at the end of the season if has won further trophies. Or am I misjudging Abramovich and if Di Matteo continues in same vein as last year he is safe?

Its a wee bit out of order to be talking about managers being sacked after 5 games. Are we all Blackburn supporters all of a sudden? Three teams have to go down and chances are another half a dozen could be in the with a couple of games to go. Lets leave it to the repsective owners.

Why? What the hell do we know about other clubs? Football stinks at the moment and to start dancing round the corpse of some poor (not after his payoff of course) sod who is just trying his best isn't on in my book. Its like supporters who say "get rid of so and so" or "sell him". Yes some players aren't worth their place in the squad but there's a bit more to it than "get lost". And for people to be betting on somebody's job is immoral. I wouldn't like to see my name on the wall at the bookies.

Do you have a penchant for melodrama?

I think you'll find people are free to discuss what they wish on a discussion forum, just as you are to demonstrate your disapproval.
