'Nice little statistic: tomorrow will be two years to the day since Nigel Adkins' first win as @officialsaints manager. The opponents? @swfc.'
I still think it's pretty amazing how many of that team are still at the club. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/9016269.stm
Last night: 'On the subject of programmes don't miss Tuesday night's one. not sure which one will play so have features from all 3 goalkeepers! #saintsfc‏' And then today: 'A full interview with Gazzaniga appears in tonight's official matchday programme, on sale ahead of the visit of @swfc for just £2. #saintsfc' Does this mean that Gazza is starting I wonder?
It is fairly astounding to think that the core and some more of our League 1 team are now playing in the Premier League. Whats that 12 players that are still on our books (although some are out on loan) and about 7 of those have played or are likely to play some part this season. That's either a mighty impressive League 1 side, or the players have been playing out of their skin and improved substantially. Good stuff!
That really brings home how great these last two years have been! Having been through the dark times we should all savour every moment!
Read that Ramirez would be starting in the Sun. And they were right when they said Gazza would be in goal for Villa.
I suppose even the Sun have to be right some-times. Can't see him being risked tonight though. Maybe on the bench?
What a great team selection. Would be excited if this team started. Only change I would make would be Hoof in for Fonte if fit to try him with Yoshida.
Wonder what gate will be tonight. Suspect a couple of thousand more after Saturday's win. This will be my first evening game for years...may do a few more this season as I can't attend many Saturday games. Please Nigel, play Ramirez just for me.
Just back from the ticket office - I work 5mins away & it's lunch time - apparently only about 6000 sold so far.
We have always had good attendances...but times are hard financially and cost of PL matches high. People may also suspect that a win isn't certain because the first teamers will be rested. I'm going because I can't get to many games and am looking forward to it. COYR.
I don't think first teamers will be rested but it depends who you class as first teamers ? Those that start every week like Ads or Lambo or players like Guly Gazzinigga Richardson etc. I would like to see the team as predicted by NockyNineDoors that looks an exciting one & gives fringe players a start. Looking forward to the game as you are, but wish it was slightly cheaper so more could attend.
