Morning all, Just a quick one after watching Huddersfield win last night must say I was mighty impressed with our boy Vaughan (1 goal, 2 disallowed). Seems with our recent inability to stick the ball in the net he is the kinda player we crying out for. Always thought he was decent and was looking forward to seeing him have a full injury free season with us so was very surprised he went out on loan. Anyone know the terms of the loan deal? Can we recall him anytime? Anyone else think he should come back early and be in contention for starting spot? Cheers,
if he stays injury free and keeps scoring and Hudersfield continue their form near the top, and we continue to struggle in front of goal - then it might have been a mistake. Lots of factors there.
Well it's early days still, he could come a cropper all too easily and be ruled out for the rest of the season (hopefully not). I always liked him when did play for us last season and was hoping he would make more of an impact this time round, sadly the management team didn't share that view and chose to farm him out. Certainly if he continues playing well and scoring goals, and we can recall him then we should, before entering the transfer market to boost the front line. - IF we can, and that's a big if. I doubt we can just recall him because we want to, more likely to be a case we need to recall him because of injuries to the other strikers.
thing is, the lad didn't want to be here. he wanted to be 'oop norf'. not a lot can be done about that. i like him as a player and i had high hopes for him but i really don't think he will be returning this season and probably not at all
Really hope Vaughan has a good season at Huddersfield. If he does want to stay up North will add to his value, if he comes back he will be a better player for the time away. But I think Kane is the better player and I am amazeded we have him on loan given the shortage of strikers they have at Spurs. The sooner he earns a regular starting place the better.
Fair point about Kane hopefully he will show his class shortly. Didnt realise Vaughan wanted a move back up North....shame tho felt he really could have been decent for us.
The official line was that he didn't feature in Hughton's plans so this is a surprise to me. If what you say is true Superman, why the hell didn't the club come out and say so ? If they had we wouldn't get so many fans (myself included), questioning the Manager on this. Not only that, if any player doesn't want to play for City they can feck off. To answer the op's question, as it's a season long loan I believe we have no right to recall him
If all what is said is true and he wants to be in the north then do we have the option to sell him to Larry in the January window to get somes funds in ? Any ideas fellas ?
no, ok, lets get this ironed out before it gets out of hand. vaughan has been homesick for some time - this is pretty common knowledge, but at no point as far as i'm aware has he ever said he didn't want to play for the club or even be here. basically the guy spends more time up north than he does down here and if the opportunity arose to move back he'd be interested. he never demanded to move as far as i know and never refused to play for our club. he just never felt comfortable down here. these things happen. hughton obviously felt it better for a not-so content player to go out, get some games under his belt in a more comfortable environment and see where it goes from there. he was not likely to be a regular here anyway. he may come back, who knows, but i'd think it unlikely
i've gone on record saying i'd have preferred to keep him here because i think he had something to offer but i think the logic in moving him on loan is obvious
I was listening to 5 live last night, and they were going over to the game occasionaly, at one point they stopped what they were doing in the studio, to report on the worst miss hit shot they had ever seen, they were obviously watching it on a screen, they started to say that James Vaughan had just shown everyone how NOT to do it! According to Motty it was one of the worst misses he had ever seen!!!!
Lo and behold, the Huddersfield press are suggesting a permanent move in January! http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2012/09/25/86081-31902560/?
