People always forget that Mackie is a recognised striker. At the moment, I'd rather see him up front. With that said, BZ and Hoilett worked well together yesterday. I leave this one up to MH!!
I think we will see Cisse make an effort when he next starts a game for us, probably on Wednesday. I think he is having a bit of a Tevez sulk because he is sitting in the bench and then he can't be assed when he is is brought on
He'd be silly otherwise. It's his choice, he either puts effort in and gets game time or doesn't bother and sits on the bench.
sorry, but playing the lone striker system to often will see us drop like a stone out of this league!.Ok,Cisse isnt on form, but we have to give ourselves a chance to score some goals with two strikers. He needs to start games and we need to start scoring!.
I wouldn't mind giving three forwards a try! I'm not being sarcastic when I say that. I think we could get joy out of BZ being up front and both Mackie/Hoilett and Cisse being on either side, or something similar.
That's this mate: -------------------Cesar-------------------- Dyer---------Nelsen-----Hill-----------Traore -------------Granero---Faurlin--------------- Park--------------Taarabt-------------Hoilett -----------------Zamora-------------------- Ok, admittedly that's not quite the 4-3-3 you were on about....it's the team I'd like to see. You could play this: --------------------Cesar------------------- Dyer----------Nelsen----Hill-----------Traore -------------------Diakite------------------- -------------Grenaro-----Faurlin------------- Cisse--------------Zamora-------------Hoilett I'd swap Cisse for Park though as he won't work back!
I'd be more inclined to try this one but switch Ale for Faurlin or keep Ale there and have Mbia in the DM position: --------------------Cesar------------------- Dyer----------Nelsen----Hill-----------Traore -------------------Diakite------------------- -------------Grenaro-----Faurlin------------- Cisse--------------Zamora-------------Hoilett
Ale is Faurlin mate. Did you mean swap Ale for Diakite? I didn't put M'Bia in as I don't think he'll be fit for West Ham.
Thats almost what id go for but it would be Home -------------------Cesar-------------------- Dyer---------Nelsen-----Mbia-----------Traore -------------Granero---Faurlin--------------- Park--------------Taarabt-------------Hoilett -----------------Zamora-------------------- Away --------------------Cesar------------------- Dyer----------Nelsen----Mbia-----------Traore -------------------Diakite------------------- ------------Grenaro-----Faurlin-------------- Park---------------------------------Hoilett ------------------Zamora------------- Id bring in Mackie for the tough away games. Cisse doesnt fit in at all except in a 442 and our whole squad is set up for a 4231/451/4411
Just got reminded of that laughable bit of commentary - "Don't adjust your calendars but it's September and Cisse's coming on with gloves!" Don't adjust calendars as a general rule... Cisse, like any striker needs goals. Now I'm not saying that our coming games are easy but we shouldn't be facing such solid defences, clinical counter attacks and such a ferocious pace for 90 minutes. It could be our turn to punish someone else's mistakes for a change and there should be a queue of players desperate to show/improve their form. If we're lucky, we might even get underestimated once or twice.
Thats with what we have now, Id have Fabio and Boswinga back in when fit. Not Ferdinand though. A bench of: Green Dyer (replaced by Boswinga) Onuoha Traore (replaced by Fabio) Mackie Taarabt/Diakite Cisse
Totally agree with your comments - in the Spurs game when we were attacking in their end, he coughed up the ball with some lazy play and we were lucky that Clint bailed us out (once again!). That comment of his about returning to France when his contract expires (end of next season?) certainly doesn't inspire confidence in him. And what about those gloves in the 3rd week of September?
What I don't get is this? Hughes was a top quality striker, right up there with the best. How can he not know how to get the best out of a forward? That should be the least of our worries. Surely he must of gone through every emotion as a forward, the lack of form, insecurities and the lack of goals and how to overcome these situations during his illustrious career. Why can't he seem to pass that knowledge on, to good effect?
The player has to want to set it right, Cisse just looks like he cant be arsed. What can Hughes do about that?
This is what my first impression was Flyer. But surely to get to the top of your game you had to have a certain mentatility and want to win above all else over and above your competitors. Surely that will to win at all costs comes above money or anything else. The only thing I can personally find comparable is ... even when playing against my best mate, whether that be football, darts, ping-pong or volleyball... whatever. I still want to beat him. During that battle, no one is my mate. Surely that carries on regardless of the level your playing at. Whether it's in the playground or at Wembley in the World Cup final.
Im the same but Cisse seems to have lost that as hes not even trying. Its strange because youd expect him to up his game to force Hughes to start him. Maybe Hughes turned down a bid from the US as thats clearly where he wants to go.
