I've always been a fan of starting in the lower leagues! Try Darlington!

Starting in the lower leagues is so much more rewarding than at a big club.

Just name your manager Kenny Dalglish and pretend you are the great man himself.

Altrincham. My hometown club, stalwarts of the Conference. You might be able to save them from relegation. Although you'll have to put up with Utd reserves playing their home matches in your ground...

I've been wondering about the differences between Fifa 11 (Manager Mode) and Football Manager? I have yet to play FM11, but from what I've been hearing, most of the guys on this forum play FM11.

i play both and footy manager is more rewarding, i feel fifa is too easy even on legendary i go seasons unbeaten where as FM its practically guranteed players will over achieve and big names such as hulk in my case let you down

Thanks for the explanation. If I bought FM11, would I be able to play on-line on it?

    Play as Colchester United!!!

I play Championship Manager 01-02. I have FM2011 but it's all too in depth for my liking. my latest adventure on CM01-02 came to an amrupt end last night which left me reeling but I have downloaded a european superleague database which I'm starting tonight

On my last game I had England, Scotland, Germany, Italy & France Leagues enabled

I started in Scotland managing Gretna in Scottish Div. 3

half way through my first season I took on the Boston Utd job (mid table of english div. 3)

At the end of the season 1 won the league and the LDV vans trophy

Halfway through season 2 I took the Aston Villa Job (They got relegated the season before so were in div. 1 and their manager took the job at Chelsea)

I won div. 1 that year (I walked it after dropping Juan Angel and playing Darius Vassell as a lone striker)

first season in the prem I came second and won the league cup

I then won the prem along with other domestic cups (not doing much in europe though) for a few years creating an awesome squad but then got sacked by coming 2nd in a season where I won the FA Cup and the League Cup (with a bucket of cash in the club account)

I then quit the game in madness

roll on the new game tonight!!!

At Boston, did you have any top-body goals? Air Duels? WWF style of play?

Is he referring to the americanisation of football, given Boston is a place in America?

Man I love Champ Manager/Fooball manager. Iv been playing them on off since about 01/02! Got knows how many hours i'v played on that game, especialy at uni. So adictive.

I usualy start at Liverpool, win stuf, and then go to one of the Italian clubs. Then back to Liverpool.

    Brilliant game.
