If you were picking a World XI to play the World Champions, who would you have in your team?

No more than two players from each Country.

By World champions, I assume you mean Madrid?

And by 2 from each country, do you mean nationality or the player, or league they play in?

    World Champions, Madrid?

    Am I missing something here.

I assume as Spain are the World Champions, he means them.

It means what it says Tash, World Champions, not Club champions. And no more than two players from each Country. I though your understanding of English was good enough to understand that!

??? You can't be picking this to play against Spain because Xavi and Iniesta are Spanish, yet you can't be picking them to play Real Madrid because Ronaldo and Marcelo play for them. This is a puzzler

Assuming that means no Spaniards then...

    Neuer

    Alves
    Kompany
    Thiago Silva
    Cole

    Pirlo
    Schweinsteiger

    Ronaldo
    Hazard
    Messi

    Benzema

    4-2-3-1
    2 Germans, 2 Belgians, 2 Brazilians, 1 English, 1 French, 1 Portuguese, 1 Argentine, 1 Italian. I assume that fills the criteria?

As for club champions, that's still currently Barcelona, making things more difficult. Based on the last rules I'm gonna go with maximum 2 players from one club so...

    Neuer

    Lahm
    Thiago Silva
    Kompany
    Cole

    Alonso
    Pirlo

    Hazard
    Kagawa

    Ronaldo
    Falcao

    4-2-2-2
    2 Bayern, 2 Chelsea, 2 Madrid, 1 City, 1 Atletico, 1 Man U, 1 Juve, 1 PSG.

I'm working on the basis of playing Spain and The Spaniards being available for both sides.

Damn it :( Nevermind, I'd be happy with my team, probably Iniesta instead of Hazard and Xavi over Pirlo.

Thank god Ivory Coast aren't world champions. Imagine Tiote going in for a 50/50 against Tiote <endoftheworldsmiley>

No, that's where he plays for Juventus.

It's formation Juventus played sometimes when they're not playing 3-4-1-2.

Pirlo plays in that position, and has two CM's (Marchisio and Vidal) just in front of him, who have attacking energy and quality, and defensive ability and pace so Pirlo isn't exposed.

In my formation, Pirlo sits in the holding role, Alonso and Toure aren't attacking mids, they just sit a bit higher than him. Alonso doesn't have much pace, but Yaya Toure will bomb up and down the pitch with his pace.

Pirlo sits a bit further back and provides passes across the pitch.

It's a difficult formation to understand, but it works, believe me.

I didn't mention Toure but Pirlo is much more attacking than Alonso. Pirlo get to the peripheries of the box and seeks killer through balls, Alonso sits back as a tough tackler but also a master at spreading passes forward from halfway

Not really, Pirlo is further back than everyone else because he's the best long range passer in the world, and can execute them fantastically.

At Real Madrid he hasn't really scored that often, because he sits back more than he did earlier in his career, but he can go forward and attack, and he's a great long shot taker.

That's how I'd play my formation, we'll have to agree to disagree.

Pirlo isn't an attacking player really, he plays the holding mid role, and sits behind everyone else.

Personally don't quite agree with you guys on Marcelo, as he doesn't start for Madrid in the biggest games under Mourinho anymore.

    Neuer

    ACole
    Kompany
    Pepe
    Alves

    Pirlo
    Khedira
    Yaya Toure

I almost thought you had David Silva in defence there! Also, if we're supposed to assume against Spain, shouldn't there be no Alonso?
