I think he deserves to lose his job to be honest although not on this season's performances as they don't seem to have done too poorly so far. Can't work out why they would stick with a manager who did crap the season before, give him heaps of money in the transfer window then sack him 8 games in when they are 2nd in the league and 2 points off the top
Have to echo the earlier comments, this would literally be the most ridiculous sacking ever. He's made pretty much as good a start as could be expected so it begs the question what would he have to have done to avoid the sack - win every game 4-0? I would suggest they are 90% certain of AT LEAST making the play-offs this season if they carry on with him so if they are going to sack him now they shouldve done so in June. And he has made shedloads of signings so what happens if the new manager doesnt fancy them players? Football is ****ing stupid sometimes.
I couldn't understand why he was hated so much by the Blackburn fans but when speaking to them a few weeks ago, they really do hate him! A lot of the dislike is directed at his apparent alcohol abuse and the way he goes around like 'the man about town'.
I will believe it when it happens. IMO he should have gone in the summer not after losing a home match to Middlesboro,, ffs.
They didn't. I remember hearing about it on SSN and saw this about Blackburn at the time http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2012/05/blackburn_face_uncertain_futur.html
It would be daft to sack him now when they're second in the league. If they don't go up at the end of the season then sacking him is perfectly justified but not right now.
He should've been sacked half way through last season when he took a perfectly capable mid-table Prem team down to the bottom in embarrassing fashion. The Venkys then didn't sack him for, I believe, two reasons; 1. He was their appointment. Big decision to sack Allardyce, had to get their balls out and prove they were big enough to deal with the fan's fury. 2. To spite the fans who could see the decline of their club in crystal clear high definition. Too much pride, too much dodgy business and not enough football knowledge. This is, in a nutshell, what you get. I thank you. Party.
This is what I don't understand. Far better teams than Blackburn have been relegated from the PL. Fact is it's a really hard league these days. Wolves imo had a better squad (hence they just pocketed £20m+ for two of those players) but they got way more of a battering than Blackburn did, they were more or less down by Feburary time, but no one says anything about McCarthy and in fact people wanted him here in the summer. I agree that their owners are mad but I don't understand why Kean is always treated differently to other mnagers of **** teams. I'd have said Blackburn had the worst squad in the PL last year.
ISTPLT, they sacked Allardyce when they were 6th in the league. Kean took over and got them relegated. Thats not good enough and if thats not worth the sack I'm not entirely sure what is
My point is that with decent management, they were more than comfortable. They dispensed with that manager, and went to ****. The whole club is a mess, but they certainly had a squad capable enough to stay up, if they had someone in charge who knew what they were doing.
