There were sh*t loads (as usual) along the high road, starting from the first matchday stool, through to the advertising boards of the new stadium/ facilities up to the burger van by the West Stand entrance. Hopefully you found one Ebar
Agreed, but "reputable" agencies now add on booking fees, handling fees, credit card processing fees, postage etc etc. Not talking about footie so much but ticket face value is becoming more of guideline than a price these days!
lads, thanks for the input. yep, i found the touts as easily as they find carlsberg special brew. Even the geezer in the car park opposite the WHL lights heard me say i have none and mobiled some bloke who i met at the william hill by the shop. others responded to eye contact- " you alright? I will be if i could find a ticket. Wait for me in the caff....etc" Anyway, they all moaned that there was huge shortage, so it was bound to be expensive..yada, yada. I had about 6 of them on the case by 5 pm. Jack's cafe is still there ..yay! meanwhile , i went to the ticket office. "sorry , mate. restricted by the police. can only sell to members"...but ..how is that ? Seeing that it says sold out everywhere online? Anyway, i paid a lot- which i knew was coming_ and accepted the one-off, treat-your-son cost of a midweek european lane spectacular. IMAGINE MY FKN HORROR WHEN I SAW THE ENTIRE UPPER TIER SOUTH EAST EMPTY, THE LAST TWO BLOCKS OF THE LOWER WEST EMPTY AND EMPTY SEATS DOTTED ALL AROUND OTHER BLOCKS, INCLUDING THE NORTH EAST CORNER (WHERE I GOT GREAT SEATS). what the heck is going on at Spurs. there were 8-10,000 empties. not on sale to the public, no-one bought, the club lost tens of thousands of gate receipts and muppets like me paid the scuzzballs as i could not get any tickets that they clearly were never going to sell, from the ticket office. the whole thing stinks. Why would they not wait til 30 mins b4 kick off and then sell to the general public- who are not wearing lazio scarves. And why did they not run the jumbos during the match? i am not asking for replays of controversial moments, but how can you see the action far end form our seats . in the past , it was always on. Levy might be a canny business man, but he ought to take a gander at the muppetry on display regarding ticket sales at this club. it's is ridiculous. and then, my son says....i am having a great time, but it would be even better if it was a chelsea match. i am now on my second bottle of barbituarates , washed down with cyanide and j.d. chasers. what was the ****ing point? COYS
Glad to hear it turned out all right Ebar. They only sold to members(I think they had to be members before the draw was made too) so that Lazio fans couldn't buy up seats and cause trouble. As for the turnout, I suppose most were put off by the prospect of an extra late midweek kick off where we didn't know whether we'd be putting out a proper team.
What I can't understand is how the touts were able to get tickets for this game. As it was "free" for season ticket holders, members get them loaded onto their cards, it didn't go to general sale, so how did touts get paper tickets to sell ??
I wonder if we lost more money by taking these precautions against Lazio then they will get fined for their fans racist behaviour?
Good point!!!!!! my tickets were "complimentary " and had no price on them. I saw other bar-coded paper ones with the sale price on them. I cannot even begin to know who gets "comps" in the north east back row...
blimey! well it sure wasn't on thursday. 23a gangway, block 30, back row. dozens of ordinary looking lazio fans, lots of normal , working spurs fans, some totty with their bosses on a secret night out and quite a lot of school kids in groups....i did not see any players of staff that were distinguishable . it was really full of ordinary punters. maybe they all have friends who got comped and could not be bothered to go..but it just seemed like any other area of "normal " stands that night.
You can get them printed off at the ticket office on the day. I had to do that on my second visit once they'd introduced the system as I hadn't brought the email with me.
Fair enough, but usually that is kown as 'wags corner' because all the wives and girlfriends sit there.
i wish the wags had've been there, cos we would've had more chance of scoring than the ref gave the team.
