Or cheating as it should be called. This will never stop until players are sent off, clubs are heavily fined or even points deducted if it persists. Our game is being ruined by cheats but its normally the ref who gets blamed. The ref only gets to see it once in real time. Yes there will still be mistakes but because of the amount of viewing camera's/angles SKY now bring us surely we can at least try to cut it out. What bugs me about it is that it appears that the top teams always seem to get the benefit of the doubt whilst the alleged lesser teams get punished.
managers could stop it easily IF they wanted to (note capital if) so in my opinion they have to put their foot down (with a firm hand) and start benching and fining players. we all know the managers it applies to.
The FA (and FIFA/UEFA) should bring in a law to say that if a player cheats to gain advantage through a free kick or penalty, or worse still to feign injury to get a player sent off or booked, then an automatic 3 match ban will be imposed as if it were a straight red card. It wont take long before managers and players alike stop the play acting and cheating if half their teams are suspended and with the use of medern technology via TV, these panels could easily sit after games and decide on events? I hate cheats and if a Sunderland player rolled around to get another player sent off, when they hadn't been touched, I'd happily boo the ****er as well and want him punished. It would stop cheating little pigs like Luis Suarez and Steven Taylor from diving and rolling about like embarassing pricks every season.
yes you are right they are embarrassing themselves if that was me i would be ashamed of myself, guess i must be from another generation who have a bit of pride in ourselves.
I don't see why they can't be punished after the event using TV replays. It's hard to spot in real time with the pace of the modern game. Mind you, Franny Lee used to get away with it in the 70s, fat diving bastard
guy called pearson think first name was stuart though not sure, he was the worst for diving.played for man u.
I've mentioned before about the brandishing of a pink card! Anybody caught diving/feigning injury etc would receive a pink card! The referee would have to deal it out in an camp/effeminate manor and the crowd would be encouraged to go 'OOOOOOooooooooo!' as the card is shown! The player would then be sent off....get a ban....and then on his return from a ban must be made to wear a pink tutu and tights during the game!!! Obviously if the offending incident is missed the punishment would be dealt after viewing video evidence!!!!
It should be a retrospective yellow for blatant dives outside the box if they arent dealt with during the game and red inside the box or trying to get someone sent off. Slightly oft topic David Luiz should be given a 3 match ban for that tackle on Walters
Think Cest has it. First offence - 3 match ban. Second offence - 5 match ban. Third offence - 8 match ban. It would stop almost instantly, and so it should, it's ****ing cheating, plain & simple, and we all know when it's been done. Difficult to implement, but say someone dives, wins a free kick/pen, and it leads directly to a goal, that goal should be retrospectively removed.
Incredibly harsh, and the only way for it to stop. Definitely would like that to happen, shame it won't though.
you mean something like this
It IS harsh, but it's also fair. If someone can cheat to gain an advantage, that advantage should be taken away. The FA/UEFA/FIFA would never have the balls, despite all their talk about fair play etc.
