...leaving the path clear for Leon Barnett to take his rightful place in the England set up <ok>

Seriously, though, I thought Barnett had another exceptional game today - especially after losing his 'usual' CB partner early on. (Hope Bassong's hamstring is not too badly damaged.)

What has brought about this transformation, though - six weeks ago, many of us thought his days at Carrow Road were severely numbered?

Most footballers are confidence based players. When he was out of the picture you could tell from his body language that he looked completely shot of confidence. He knew that the manager had lost faith in him and that when given a chance he was like a new born deer on roller skates where another inevitable accident was waiting to happen.

The new manager has come in and worked wonders but Bassong's influence cannot be underestimated. You could see how he was marshalling things and organising the back four constantly, something which we have lacked for an awfully long time. Fair play to Barnett today who played another blinder in his absense. He and a lot of the members of the team deserve a win sooner rather than later.

He has all the attributes necessary but has a tendancy to make stupid mistakes.

Think its a positive thing that Terry has gone from international football. He is past his best and is a divisive figure

We just need the rest of the England to do the same, the farce can be ended then.

Leon was very good today, I've always liked him but I thought his days were numbered. Then again I liked Ward as well, Barnett is a good athelete, his positioning is good, its just his errors that need working on.

I'm quite keen on all the defenders we have at the club Ayala, Ward, Bassong, Garrido, Tierney, Martin, Barnett, Turner and Bennet (who I really like).I think they all offer something different from the other and theres quite a nice mix of skills there. The only thing thats missing is a ball player in the midle with Ayala away.

It had to happen really. How can the captain of the England team, representing the FA, be charged by the said same organisation? Now they can sentence him and get it all over with so that Anton Ferdinand doesn't take a private prosecution.
Football has a habit of dragging things on and on and on and on and on and on.

He has obviously been forced to retire by the FA. Much as I despise him and think he is overated I think he should have been left alone until all the charges were heard in court.

Because of this incompetent FA we now have Roy "long ball, won nothing" Hodgson in charge rather than Fabio "won the lot" Capello.

Bunch of chimps, the lot of them.

Terry may have been a piece of s**t but he was still our best CB.

Will miss him as a player, but not as a person.

    Good Riddance!
Regarding the question of the being charged by the same organisation as you represent, these panels are now independent and as for Terry bleating 'my position is now "untenable" following the Football Association's decision to "pursue charges" against me despite being cleared in court of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, a court of Law may have cleared him but on a football pitch, you can't make any sort of rascist comment, whether meant in jest or whatever.

John Terry is a ****er to the end, He jumped before he was pushed by the FA. Hopefully the FA will say soemthing like 'If you wouldn't have retired from International football we would have give you an indefinate ban from england selection and a 6 game ban, but as you have retired from england selection you will now get a 18 game ban!

that will serve the **** right!
