Add the 3 points we would have taken v reading, johnson out, cuellar out, rose looks decent (wants permanent move) fletchers 4 goals, mk dons on 25th, winable game v wigan on sat. It will all come good lads
i think come the end of the season the four points we have will be seen as four good points, but for now, without a win, people are getting nervous, and given we've thrown away four leads in three games, questions have to be asked. we were absolutely terrible yesterday mate, completely outplayed by a team where to a man we have better players across the pitch.
No need to panic yet boys. I suppose we can put a positive spin on the fact we were awful yesterday and still got a point. The Sunderland of the past would probably lose a game like this. Just think what we'll do when we start playing well. KTF, we'll get there sooner rather than later.
Mon is here for the long haul, psycologically scoring first and holding out away from home is a skill top teams have, and have had to work at for years, manure are excellent at, difference is they hold out and win as they did last weds. We are seeing a different animal in safc, one thats not being beaten, i'm happy with our start, west ham will finish mid table imho, we will attack more on saturday and win easily 2/3-0. Mon knows what he's doing and with johnson in the team you will see the tactics come in to effect for what he signed him for
I don't think its panic lads but its not good either. In all 4 games we have been overwhelmingly out played for 2/3rds of the game and found ourselves clinging on for dear life at times. We haven't put any kind of concerted pressure on the opposition in any of those games and have indeed struggled to get 12 shots on target in 4 games. We have the paltry sum of 3 corners in 4 games which tells you we are not in the opposition half much in games and only Steven Fletcher has actually scored a goal for us in that time. The Reading and Wigan games now become MUST wins and pressure is mounting for MoN to find a better shape and tactical plan. Just as with Bruce, you cannot ignore the fact our win less run is now 12 games in the EPL, both at the end of last season and the beginning of this one, and that's very poor for any manager and indeed is already Martins worst run in his top flight managerial career. Typical that he has his worst ever stats here and reinforces the belief that we can drag anyone down to our level here at Sunderland. Not panic but a considerable and justified concern imo and although I still have unswerving belief in MoN, he needs to arrest this concern and discomfort currently being felt in the ranks of Sunderland supporters and also he has to hope that Fletcher's form and fitness remain the same too.
Why do people keep banging on about not winning for 10,11,12 matches?!?! The season is only 4 games old. If that was the case we would be cut adrift at the bottom. Is that the case?
Unbeaten with plenty of room for improvement. Patience is a lost trait in football. We've been well below our best also so far. But then we have most of our spine missing or out of form. Yet we have a few moaning because we are not tearing up the league. 4 games in! You are a side still adapting to a new manager and he seems intent on getting a solid base to work from. Not a bad theory. Throw in the flair you do have is either out of sorts or injured, its hardly time to be concerned. Yes you haven't been great to watch but there is a long way to go. Even if you were sitting with 0 points, I still think time is needed.
But what bearing do those extra 8 games have? Last seasons games remain as last seasons games and have no bearing on this season. Well no other bearing than for anoraks.
