His time had come, nothing against him personally and wish him the best for the future but now we have a chance. COYB

This is we might be jubilant about it but what next? Could be relegation? Unless the replacement can turn it around but we know the budget ain't there

I'm not going to celebrate a decent man losing his job, but right decision made.

Please don't get another manager. Just appoint Gareth as temporary player manager and see how it goes before making any commitments. We need to re-cover some of the pay-off money. Glad to see that the sums had been done (presumably) in order to act quickly.

I see some fans want Keth Ryan and Steve Brown to take charge at Wycombe. These players are rightly regarded as legends at the club but if they fail will fans turn on them? We should take our time to see who applies for the job before making a rash decision as there are experienced managers without a club.I firmly believe waddock should have gone in January and if he had w
ould we be in League 2 now? I hope Waddock finds another club as he's a nice man but just wasn't up to the job!

Yes. Sorry Garry. You were a hero when you first came. Something has gone wrong somewhere down the line.

Having been made redundant 6 times in my life i can understand how Waddock is feeling so i will try and show a little charity even though i've wanted him out for longer than most on here!

Let's remember those days when we were full of praise for GW (even quotes like the best manager since MON - very high praise). Whatever went wrong let's wish him similar success with another club. I imagine he received a good severance package so hopefully his family won't suffer as a result.

he may not be the only one to go, after some performances yesterday. have you thought about a young player manager, like plymouth. they had a good win at morecambe. anyway good luck , plenty to choose from!

Pretty inevitable after the terrible start to the season you have endured, hope you can find someone better to replace him and start heading back up the table <ok>

correct decision made but I think the way people are talking about 'rejoicing' etc are being a bit harsh. Waddock took us up - something a few decent managers couldnt manage previously. Also, these threads were full of 'best manager since O'Neill' etc not so long ago. I never thought he was that and I certainly dont think he is rubbish either. Average, yes, but lets never forget this guy managed our team and gave his all during a time of massive uncertainty off the field. Show some grace!!

In terms of his replacement - I agree that we should stick Ainsworth in charge for a bit and see how that goes/see who applies. There are a few decent managers out of a job that would poss drop down a level or two to enhance their CV and Wycombe are a decent size club in this division. As much as both are legends, this Brownie/Rhino thing is a non starter imo. Neither have managed before and, looking at the position we are in, someone with some experience in management would be nice. Its easy to be emotive about who we want in charge - I remember it happening with Smillie. Nice bloke, had been at the club for a while and gave it his all but awful record. Cant really afford to make many mistakes!

Regardless of who we get, lets take a min to be happy that the Trust are making the decision on who comes in and not Steve Hayes <party>
