I was watching a Sky documentary on Youtube about good ol' Jose tonight, and it reaffirmed how much I love the guy. His wit, his charisma, matched by his unerring success. He's like the Portuguese Ian Holloway...wow, that sounded like a much better compliment in my head...

He truly is the Special One. Won titles in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain, and he's not even halfway through his career I wouldn't think!

Now, I was thinking during the commentary, how amazing it would be if he came to us at some point. Now, don't shoot me down - impossible. No way, right? Plus we have Pards!

However, he has come out today and repeated his desire to move back to England after his Madrid conquest. And when asked who, he replied 'Everyone.'

The man clearly likes a project, and loves accomplishing something. He doesn't like to just continue success, he likes to create a legacy of his own. Why else would he have taken on a Chelsea side who hadn't won a league title in 50 years? An Inter Milan side who were known for underperforming in Europe on a regular basis? And a Real Madrid side who hadn't reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League in seven years, and were tasked with possibly the hardest job of all - toppling Barcelona.

Jose Mourinho at Newcastle United. Fairytale stuff?

    This unfortunately...

He'd have too much to lose coming to us...Besides, we know he doesn't like to be restricted by owners and ours certainly keeps a tight leash!

The only tiny sliver of reason why he might take us on would be that he was of course very close to Bobby Robson, I feel this could have some bearing, but still definitely no.

Highly unlikely for any number of reasons. Looking at his career he would appear to have moved on from relishing the challenge of matching up to the European giants financial muscle with lesser budgets as he did at Porto. He has previously talked of money not being his focus, that the project is important. We'll see but I still see him at Man U after Ferguson.

If only! Work pressures have resulted in every waking hour being spent at the grindstone. Paggered.

Yep, money. Maybe as he likes a project the money to him wages wise may be less important but he would want significant money for the team and we wont give him that. Project wise a point was made regarding the teams he has been at but Porto are big as far as Portugal is concerned, Chelsea offered huge cash, Inter are a huge club with money and Real speak for themselves. Love to see him here and there is the Sir Bobby conection but cant see it ever happening.

If we got billionaire owners, then I'd say it was possible, but there is no way in hell he'd come here under Ashley.

Pardew is on around 10k a week. Mourinho would want around 15-20x that. He's well worth it mind, but it's not gonna happen.

Plus he needs a good budget to work with. We'd need around 100m.

Mourinho is ****ing brilliant but he costs a lot, and more than we'd pay.

Didnt he say in his first press conference for Chelsea he was a Newcastle fan and he hoped too sell us some players. That was whilst Bobby was there though

Bobby was well respected by a lot of top managers, so I suppose Mourinho might have some likeness towards Newcastle.

But he did say he was a blue, so Chelsea are his favourite English club, but he's a professional so he'd take any good job in England, he loves it here.

I'd personally put my money on Moyes for United.

After coaching Real Madrid, to come to Newcastle and watch the likes of Williamson , Gosling , Simpson try to control balls and make passes would give him fits!!
