Leicester City Leicester have again, got off to an inconsistent, unpredictable start after such promising optimism from both fans and bookies alike to get Promotion. Undoubtedly, there lies quality within the Leicester squad and Jamie Vardy, the £1million striker from the non-league, has impressed so far. Their midfield consists of inconsistent, but dangerous players that will cause many teams problems. Lloyd Dyer has been receiving criticism of late but is a pacey customer and when he's on his game, can be a major threat. Andy King and Ben Marshall both have the ability to control and dictate a game and often chip in with a goal when called upon. New signings Marko Futacs and Anthony Knockaert have also been impressing the Leicester faithful but whether either will start is questionable. The Leicester defence has been leaky so far but Wes Morgan has by far been the reliant stopper so far. Hull City A great start to the campaign for the Tigers seeing them have 4 wins, a draw and a loss to League Leaders Blackburn. Since the Deadline day signings of Stephen Quinn and Ahmed Elmohammedy, Hull have all of a sudden found their attacking instincts and have scored 10 in their last 3, their most recent result breaking a 25 year wait for a win against Leeds United at Elland Road. The chemistry between Jay Simpson, Elmohammedy, Quinn and Aluko has been a joy to watch and the side look full of confidence. Abdoulaye Faye has managed 3 goals in 3 games which for a Centre Half, is rather impressive and has given Hull some aerial presence and a serious threat from set pieces and as shown at Leeds and Millwall, open play. Analysis Leicester currently have completely contrasting levels of form; they have collected 9 out of 9 points from their home games but haven't collected any points at all on their travels. Many people have started to question whether Nigel Pearson will remain in the job for much longer should this up-down form continue, and how Hull fans would love for his last game to be the upcoming fixture at the King Power. Leicester are a formidable force at home so far and this is definitely a very difficult task for Steve Bruce's men. Hull travel to the King Power Stadium however in a rich state of form where the team are scoring goals collectively rather than relying on individuals and it's form which has risen the optimism amongst the supporters and players. This is definitely going to be an interesting game where Leicester's 100% home record could be put to the test and Hull's new found love for goals could face their hardest task so far. Super Tiger's Prediction Hmm, a difficult one to call this, should City remain confident and keep the attacking ethos, there's no doubt we can win 4 on the bounce, but it's definitely not going to be easy. A third reunion with Nigel Pearson since he left to return to Leicester lines up another dramatic game. Leicester look incredibly difficult to beat at home and City's players heads will need to be screwed on properly to keep Leicester at bay. I reckon it will be a draw, but it could also go either way. Ones To Watch Leicester City: Jamie Vardy, Danny Drinkwater, Wes Morgan, Ben Marshall Hull City: Sone Aluko, Ahmed Elmohammedy, Jay Simpson, Stephen Quinn
*To note. I do apologise if I come across as fairly biased in any way in these match previews, but after all, I am a City fan, so in a way I sometimes can't help it. I do try and make it as balanced as I can.
You aint the BBC, we don't expect non biased, we're happy with honest and considered previews, which you do very nicely ta. Keep up the good work!
2nd'ed. Great preview. Good balance actually. Well done. Cannot wait to read next weeks Peterborough one. Lol. From, what i saw last week @ Wolves he is better than Marshall. Certainly did far more in the game. Bruce will know whats coming at us though. I would suggest Lesta should worry more about us than we shall about them. But its nice that the Foxes have a 100% home record so far. Time for that to change and change is good. Lol.
I'm worried about this one, some people seem to be getting carried away on our recent form, but Leicester really need to turn it around and will be going for it, they have some handy players too and it's just sods law they'll give us a proper kicking after I've been taking the piss out of my mates.
BOB. Its good then that they can feel they can give us a right good kicking. Those tactics will play into our hands. Lesta's first half performaces in there last 2 games have been dire. NP comments/reports etc. Now if they are as bad again in the first half then the game could be all over byu half-time. I wonder if Pearson will go tight defensively in the first half to stunt our attacking flair and then open up in the 2nd half ? Whatever happens we shall still be above them come the end of the game.
Yes you have started well and have soon good players. But under estimate us at your peril Ben Marshall could have a shocker and then crash in a 30 yarder, Lloyd pulled you to bits here last season, Nugent finally got his 100th goal to get him off the mark, Vardy grabbed a goal aswell. And Knockaert will take the piss out your players Both teams have a lot of dangerous players
Agreed Which is why i'm really looking forward to the game, should be a great watch. Only things i'd counter what you've said is that Dyer tore a tired Andy Dawson apart who won't be playing and Knockeart hasn't faced a defence that's set up like ours is, so we'll see how he'll do, he could take the piss as you say or be crowded out as our defence and midfield has 6 central players between them. Can't wait
Of the two managers Pearson definitely has the biggest headache when it comes to this game. First he has to work out how to deal with a 5-3-2 system that offers a solid defence and the licence to attack at will. (No other opposition manager has sussed it) Next he has to contain a team that scores goals freely from every area of the pitch. And he's up against a City side playing with the confidence to attack in numbers. On the other hand SB knows Leicester have decent players and if luck goes against us we could easily lose. But Pearson's dogged tactics are fairly predictable. His aim will be to keep the game tight and maybe win by the odd goal. The questions will arise if Leicester need to chase goals. Does their set-up allow them to go all out attack or will NP's familiar safety first tactics stifle the strikers in the same way it did here?
Knockaert is not the only player on the pitch that can do that. Your defence need to be afraid, very afraid. The one thing that Lesta fans have not sussed yet is that last season we were on our knees in that March game and Barmby got his team selection all wrong. But let them stay thinking like that then. A small version of Ronaldo according to Lesta fans. He is the one who is going to destroy us it appears.
