I know many of us are disappointed with not reaching the play offs, me especially mainly due to the fact as i think it is just going to get harder and harder every year to reach them. However i just wondered does NP get the credit he deserves? We came away from top of the table with a point, now how many other teams would be delighted? Everyone to be fair, yet i am disappointed and that shows how far we have come. It may be managers 'talk' as i like to call it that last sentence but it is true. He has finally got us playing away from home, maybe at expense of our home form, we have a squad that has some re-sell value. We have a talented crop of youngsters, we have a scouting network that plunders to the depths of the German first division for out of contract keepers! We have a manager that i put full faith in, but i rarely see him get any credit, i think he deserves far more than he gets.
I totally agree with your sentiments. I really hope TWF sees this though,he'll ****ing well explode with rage. Literally. I can see it now. Praise Nigel Pearson.........................NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
just mentioned on another thread,. but may as well repeat.. pearson has done a good job, but he stil frustrates me at times..or his style does... a point today was good, but effectively useless in terms of faint play off hopes..yet in the last minute when we got a corner, he sent akpan back, to leave it 3 v 2 at the back... might as well have sent him in the box, and risked a breakaway imo...same as we should have left gerrard or hobbs up front for the last 5 minutes...it was all or nothing for the season, and it just felt like we where content with a draw.all the talk on the radio was about norwich, and how they had scored more goals then anybody else in injury time this year..and the question kept been asked why was it...and the answer that kept creaping into my head was, he probably doesnt leave 3 back at corners..
I think he's done a fantastic job and he will get us promoted in the next 2 years. I wouldn't swap him for anyone.
To be fair DJ, in his post match interview with Burnsie, he was asked if keeping the away record in tact was on his mind he stated that he would rather have lost the game by having a go at the end. I'll give him credit. He's done well after being dealt a ****ty han when he arrived. I'm not convinced he realised just what a mess we were in when he took the job. 7/10
I agree with DJ, and i have just posted in the other thread he does have that nature of safety first but at times that has being whats needed, especially this season. However i think he will allow us to open up more, but after Saturdays debacle i think he know we can still self implode. Glad that some people think like me! (Overally positive!)
well if he said that, then fair do's....i thought we where gona win it, as we grew as the half went on, and i thought they where going to implode like we did on saturday..but thats probably doing qpr a disservice..
Nigel Pearsons Black and Amber Army think we was really lucky that he can to Hull City when we was in such a mess money wise, and player wise.. In my opinion he has done a brilliant job in such a short time while having to re build the team and get rid of some of the garbage brought in by the last lot.. Course things are not all sorted out yet player wise, But i am confident that the Pearsons and the Allams will sort everything out for the start of next season.. Hull City will finish in the top 3 next season.... [ He deserves more credit from some fans ]
He deserves immense credit for steadying what was a sinking ship. His football style may not be the most exciting but i'd have taken were we are now in August given our financial mess, and we've picked up some great results along the way. 6 defeats in nearly 30 games and 17 games unbeaten away is not an acheivement to be sniffed at, especially in such an open league such as this. We have the summer now for Nigel to stamp his authority on the team, Steve Walsh does a fatastic job picking up fresh talent and with a good relationship with Man United there's no reason why we can't pick more players up from there. We've evolved into a decet putfit as the season has progressed and have become very hard to beat as the statistics show, which can only bode well for next season. I fully expect Nigel and his management team to a do a great job over the summer to make us come back in August ready for a promotion challenge. Good times ahead for us next year i feel.
FFS the man is top draw in my opinion - hate to lose any game. Think we will be really at it next year UTT
I love the man, think that is obvious down to me starting this thread! However we will not win automatic promotion next season, i think we are being a bit to optimistic there, yes we will be in the hunt for the play offs but teams take years to build and i hope he does it slowly and we do not rush the youngsters. Play offs next year has to be the aim!
Spot on - I don't think fans of any team in the Championship can expect a top 2 finish. After this season we have the right to expect to be in the play-off hunt, but people are forgetting there will be teams next season who have better squads than us. The three that come down are bound to be up there (except West Ham, who will do a Leeds), and just look at the three that came up from League One, all in with a chance of promotion. Our squad will be improved next season, and along with the experience the young players have gained at the back end of this campaign, logic will project us to finish higher (i.e, top six), but it isn't going to be the stroll in the park some deluded supporters are thinking...
It seems to me that most championship fans who actually know their stuff would put Pearson amongst the best in the league. I personally think he's been exactly what was needed this season, many lesser managers would have really panicked around October time
Pearson is a fantastic manager, I worry that another club will get him in the summer, the rebuilding and reconstruction job he has done at the club is immense.
Not many people have dared to speculate on this, but it's a point worth making. Afterall, he's not had long spells with any of his previous clubs so isn't afraid to leave a club to go and further his career. I'm confident the gaffer is satisfied with the situation at the moment though - he's managing a team who have just finished outside the play-offs, the squad is already oozing with potential and there is guaranteed money to spend in the summer. He's obviously invested in youth so far and it appears to be paying off. Long may that continue!
