**** off PTC - No one rejoices in Town losing but it's got to the stage now that it's a means to an end. If this result pushes Jewell closer to the Exit door then so be it! We want real reform not just a team limping along to save the manager's skin!

PTC if you can't take it, don't dish it. You have been goading people throughout this thread in the name of 'debate' but it is goading all the same.

    PJ = Dead man walking
Won't reach the target set for him so will be gone soon. There is light at the end of the tunnel, noooooooo.........stop pulling me back

I have noticed that there are actually more people on the forum recently, and most of them are here to bitch about what's going on, not to 'debate'

PTC - "tonight apparently the defence played fairly decent tonight" - Is scoring a comical own goal what we call decent these days. If we concede 2 goals in every game, we are not going to win too many
Some time ago, someone (don't ask me who) wrote about how solid defensively we were when Stewart Houston was brought in to work alongside Burley - Hear, Hear. That's what we need now, someone (IMO from outside the club i.e not an ex-player) to teach the basics of defending as a team. When the other team has the ball, all 10 outfield players share the responsibility of keeping the ball out of our net, not just the back 4

Doesnt matter whos in charge i just want the team to be winning. I think hes built a good nucleus of a squad over the summer and as i said he seems to have instilled a good team spirit, but hes not doing much to convince me hes worth a new contract, so therefore I believe it may be time to look for a replacement provided its someone who can take the next step up on the stairs the PJ is trying to take us on. Still, on to Charlton.

keane now jewell both good managers who cant put a foot right at your club, do any of you think maybe the problem is a little deeper than just the manager? city rattled through managers when doomcaster and the old board members were in place. when lambert took over there was also a complete new board in place who made a massive difference in areas like signing the players the manager wanted and not selling anyone the manager didnt want too. when jewell does go i think you need to look to someone without a big name a manager like sean dyche would be good for your club in my opinion. just a few thoughts for you all to consider

Keane got sunderland some results but management wise he's far from great, both clubs hes left under a cloud. But i do agree that its no coincidence that results have gone down hill since Clegg came in. Unfortunatly hes harder to get rid of.

We like to think we have good players but the results say otherwise. Most who come to town are deemed surplus to requirements at their old club. So while other teams improve their squad we take their cast offs, thinking we are improving.

It has looked for a while that the problem runs deeper than just the manager but it's the manager who selects the team and tactics and is responsible for results. If for whatever reason the players PJ wanted weren't brought in that just means he has to deal with what he's got. He's not doing a very good job of it though.

Apologies for loosing it in quite so dramatic almost Spanish fashion (it appears we've both changed)!!! I was very p*ssed off regarding the result, the same feeling again and again having enough chances, missing some open goals you just knew when Murphy missed the easiest of chances that Wolves were going to do down the other end and score!!! I have to say if we loose at Charlton things are certainly looking ominous for PJ!!! Then to come on here and have people try to (successfully) wind me up and rub my face in it, i just lost it!!! Why do people feel the need to wind others up??? For the record I called you all CASES (C***S)!!!

If we don't get any points against Charlton even I cannot argue that PJ would probs deserve to be given the chop. I just hope like Mike says the manager to come in, is the right one to take on this squad not rip it up!!!

I dont know why Hyams exclusion is always the focal point of complaint about the midfield good player but not match winning, he was also there at blackpool. I would prefer him in the team but still.

Luongo is a good player that spurs obviously believe has a future
N'Daw i was never quite sure where he was going to fit in but we needed height
Murphy is to all intents and purposes is a permanant signing, its his third time here.

Even so there all here for the season, the Loan use is hardly to the extend of Last year

PTC - We are all hurting mate but there comes a time when you can't carry on trying to defend Jewell. I listened again to his post match interview and he is a beaten man, no doubt about it. Surely Evans should now do the decent thing and put the poor bastard out of his and our misery!

I truly hope we don't sign Murphy on a free next summer. You would think he would be doing everything he could to show he's worth a contract somewhere but he has probably already had assurances that will take him and so couldn't give a toss.

Other clubs sign the likes of Sam Baldock, Nicky Maynard and Jordan Rhodes meanwhile we sign Daryl Murphy!

My feeling that we've got good players, Diego, comes from the second half of last season. It seemed the 11 only needed a few key additions to make it a key nucleus of a good but thin squad, the season started well enough but all confidence has been shattered by Blackpool. I do accept that is Jewells responsibility to get the confidence back.

I pretty much agree with this. The obvious holes are the need for a CB and probably a target man. I do think it's certainly a lack of confidence, we have got young players and no real leaders on the pitch to pick peoples heads up or galvanise the team. I truely think a Jason De Vos type character in that team would make a significant difference. I think the team seem together just when we concede or miss an open goal the heads drop and there's just an inevitability about it!!!

Trouble is I think players feel too comfortable at our nice club, even Cressy doesn't seem to be as hungry as when he arrived. True we had a decent end to last season but we haven't kicked on in the slightest since.
