That is a very good point. We were not threatened. Granted we didn't create much either. Englands number one shipped 3 in the Champions league. Our Lurch kept a clean sheet. Better than that, we competed. We were the better side. Brown and Wanyama were sooo perb. Big clumsy Kelvin did well. Mulgrew was excellent wide left and did ok at full back. Matthews was excellent all night long.
Don't think either keeper had a save of note to make in the match. Can see us and Benfica competing for 3rd spot to be honest.

Stop putting down your compatriot. Honestly, I think Benfica were the better team overall. They didn't need to win, a draw is a good result for them so they settled for it in the end. In saying that we had a few injuries and didn't play as good as we can - I may be forever the optimist but I can see such sneaking something in Portugal due to the fact that they may judge us on this performance (ala Souness + Blackburn) and we will have a few players back. Benfica were barely out of second gear, they will take 4 or 5 off us over there, hopefully 4 points gets you 3rd cos that all they are capable of.
Problem with that is we were actually a good team then, what you seen tonight is what that poor lot are capable of in Europe. Hopefully Barcelona show them some mercy because that could be 6 or 7 if they want it.
