Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger, Joe Allen and Martin Kelly are all likely to return to the Liverpool line up as they search for their first win of the season. Liverpools second string beat Swiss side Young Boys 5-3 on Thursday and Rodgers will be hoping his first team can replicate the free scoring game on Sunday.

Manchester United

United will be without Wayne Rooney for the trip to Anfield this Sunday. The striker has been in training this week but Sir Alex confirmed he will not feature in the game against Liverpool. Phil Jones, Ashley Young and Chris Smalling are all out.

With this in mind United are almost certain to start with Robin van Persie up top, Nani on the left wing and Valencia on the right.

As the two teams are looking for calm re the Evra Saurez debacle Liverpool will be wearing their ceremonial kits to mark the occasion...
