Some great fixtures tonight, fair play. Despite Sinclair saying he wanted to "go back to a big club" and "just look at the fixture list with Champions League games against Real Madrid coming up" - he's not even on the bench.
Apparently he was very ineffective on Saturday so he's carried on where he left off with us. Surprised he got a start at all, but with CL fixtures a few days later it's understandable I suppose.
Hope his retirement goes well a shame there aren't any man city fans on here to ask their thoughts on him.
Nice one Leroy! Drum that price up. Anyone notice that Brighton beat Bolton tonight? Orlandi started and Dobbie came off the bench, they're playing for a good team who'll be challenging for promotion at the end of the season. Pratley meanwhile sat out his 3rd or 4th fixture in a row on the bench...and I haven't noticed him start yet. Shame. Perhaps he could do a Leon? Oh hold on! You burnt all your bridges didn't you Pratters you ****ing cretinous gobshite.
How Man City surrendered a lead in the space a few minutes right at the end of the game is beyond me. Don't suppose they can complain though - Real deserved the win imo. On Pratley, I agree. I can usually understand a player going to a bigger club at the end of his contract but Bolton wasn't exactly a Man City was it? Left in a poody because he "didn't feel wanted" after we delayed on the negotiation for the renewal of his contract. To my mind that's pathetic, is the worse kind of spitting the dummy, and he's paid the price. Tough luck.
you know why pratters left.....do me a favor, Its absolutely shameful and disgusting how every player and manager who leaves us for whatever reason gets called scum names and abuse and say they threw their toys out of their pram Listen to yourselves and tell me who is actually throwing a tantrum get over it they have gone just like some of the players we have now at some point will.....and no doubt they will be called names..
I think you'll find Dai that it was Pratley that "threw a tantrum". I wasn't criticising him for leaving, I was criticising him for burning his bridges with us as he went...a very foolish thing to do no matter where you work.
His choice just like everyone else's who move from club to club. they all have reasons but that is no excuse to slag them off.....If it was not for pratters goal against forest then we might not be here now......I dont care who leaves the club as we will replace them and thats how football works. martinez, leon, pratters, trundle, backroom staff, sinclair, brendan and even joe allen have all been called names and slagged off for leaving......At the end of the day they all have one thing in common....they all had their reasons and they all got us to where we are today and we owe them respect for what they did while here.......
Your condescension towards other posters is shameful, Dai. Pratley was a decent player for us but didn't actually play as big a role in our promotion year as others did and was in and out under Rodgers. Weren't we already winning when he scored the semi final goal in the dying seconds? Can't remember. We were prepared to offer Pratley a very good deal but he had a poody because we didn't enter into negotiations earlier and he said publicly he "didn't feel wanted". Diddums. His loss. I agree that players who choose to leave for whatever reason don't deserve the brickbats that they get most of the time but Pratley's reason for going was ****e, and like many before him, he's been hit by the curse whilst we came out of it with a better midfield. He could have had a real career with the Swans but turned his back on us in a fit of pique. It's no surprise the Swans fans are a bit cold towards him.
I don't care how big or how small anyone did while at our club they all contributed to where we are today and deserve our utmost respect when they move on for whatever reasons...They are not someone like petty was who tried to ruin our club....
As a player, I liked Pratley. But it will always be frustrating when you have a player who's head has been turned. He did also try his utmost to try to paint the club in a bad light that might have prevented us making signings. He was free to go and, towards the end of the year, started making a good contribution again. He fulfilled his contract and made his choice. The stroppiness though did sour it a bit. Dai - if he's free to get his digs in at the club and say waht he likes, how come the fans aren't allowed to do likewise in response? De Vriess - was a little frustrating because he was going somewhere else to be second choice. But I can understand the roll of the dice that he took. I would have no problem with him coming back to be our number 2. And I can also look back at the points he saved and bear no grudges over him. Allen is fine - disappointing becuase he is a good player that we lost. Sinclair didn't set the world alight last year but nor was he poor as some others insist. He had some bad luck with the post and crossbar (seriously, how did he not end up at Liverpool?!!) He wanted to try something else. He was honest about it. He was also good enough to draw a significant fee that supported our additions. I also respect that he came on and played the first game of the season for us when we called upon him - he could have been injured and lost out on the move. I hope he does well - I just fear that he will not. Rodgers has proven himself to be untrustworthy in his dealings - not just with us, but with Fulham as well. I remember hearing someone say that success doesn't change you, it shows who you really are. I think that's the case with these transfers.
