Against Charlton, Blackburn and Wolves we didn't really get onto the front foot until Anthony Knockaert came on. Nigel needs to give him a start and use Lloyd Dyer as impact sub
Good point well made .... at the moment our most potent goal threats are King and Marshall who seem the only two (of the starting line-up) able to get their shots on target ... feel a little sorry for Vardy as he is working his socks off but not really getting chances ... Nugent on the other hand couldn't hit a barn door with an entire Philharmonic Orchestra right now ...
With Burnley and Stewart to face @ home on weds Its an interesting game. That game and the Hull game on sunday will show us all just how much the players want Nigel Pearson to stay as manager. 2 poor defeats and it will be """SITUATION VACANT""" this time next week.
There is no doubt that Pearson has must win games coming up - Just like the home game against Blackpool was after the shocking defeat at home to Burton Albion - I believe Tops itchy sacking finger is already twitching and I don't see any draws, or heaven forbid losses in the next two games saving him
6 points and everything is rosy again. But i think our away form is going to be a little patchy all season. We have to make the King Power a fortress
Never thought Pearson was the right man for the Leicester job, not because I don't think he's a good manager because he clearly is, but he's more a build something from rubble kind of bloke, he focuses in unearthing and developing young talent which with time is a great strategy, but the situation at Leicester is more of an instant success, promotion at all costs job, he should be dealing in developed and established pros, which seems to be where he comes unstuck as he has a job coping with those big egos, and I don't blame him if I was round half the self important pricks every day I'd want to cave their heads in too I bet But he can't chuck a load of young kids together into a team and expect miracles straight away, so I genuinely think Leicester would be better moving on, but at least give him the season to see if he can get you firing on all cylinders first, he's just built his team and pointless bringing in another manager now who won't get the opportunity for another 11 months.
I'll second Gangsta's 'excellent post' comment .. but without commenting on it's realative merits in terms of the intelligence of Hull fans .. that would be very uncharitable on any thread where Charlie has participated ...
I think he was the right man, under Sven we were developing the wrong ethos and paying over-the-odds for players. Nottingham have done it perfectly. Now we are getting there too.
Come now Filberto, my comment wasn't an attempt to denigrate the Hull fans, simply to note that, despite inordinate amounts of sentient and articulate posts from our Humberside-dwelling compatriots, this was by far the most lucid, thoughtful and unprejudiced I have perused to date. Long may their future endeavours continue to be of this ilk.
