He doesn't really bother me either way. Not sure why we need to talk about him on two topics though...ok you're right I don't like him.

Every team Redknapp has managed apart from Spurs and West Ham has gone into administration. Yes, he does have good man management skills. But the total of the fees and wages his respective clubs spend cannot be supported by the club's income. West Ham need to be careful, if they go down this season and fail to get promoted then I don't think that they'd be in a great position. His spending at Tottenham has given them huge expectations, this has lead to them trying to gain Champions League status. It failed two years ago, it failed last year (unluckily) and now they've spent 50 million this window to try and be one of the "top 4" and I strongly doubt it will happen with AVB as manager.

You can not blame Redknapp on who Spurs employ after they sacked him , he is a spending manager and I would not want him here because it would go against evrythign Cortese has stated and would make him a complete hypocrite , I do however think he has underestimated the premierleague and the nous required for deals , that is where Redknapp is at his best buying and selling and lifting players for games .
He would keep us up I would have no doubt about that but at what cost of ethics , morals and our long term goals ?

Did anyone listen to 606 on radio 5 on Saturday. The muppet of a Saints fan saying Nigel was clueless?
Clueless? Are you kidding? The man who has just got us promoted twice in two seasons is clearly not clueless. In my opinion he has earned the right to be given time with a new crop of players. We have to remember, it's not just the players that are new to the Premier League, Nigel is too and he needs time to find his feet. Yeah, he is going to make mistakes, it's human nature and part of life. It will be mistakes he can learn from.
There is always a minority of Saints fans who know nothing about the ins and outs of football and should engage brain before opening their trap spouting absolute bollocks about something they clearly know nothing about. I love my club dearly and most Saints fans are very knowledgeable about the game and the realisms of what our club is currently capable of. The rest of you,if you don't like it, **** off and go and support one of the big four and leave Nigel alone. But then I guess you'd have nothing to moan about.

I want to discuss football , I want to discuss the lack of available centrebacks and the reasons why , this is deemed to negative to talk about , what shall we discuss then ?
Our belting start ? It seems we can only talk of flowers , expectations of championsleagues football and signing Messi next season .

Thats far more delusional that I care to be , its not even half full to half empty , lets just talk about survival as thats the best its going to be with our squad , lets not kid ourselves , and yes I go when i can , yes I have played the game and still do every week , yes I will always support them regardless etc etc etc .

Fair enough, but still I don't think it's a good omen having had Redknapp as your manager.

gomarchingin, it is not the fact that you want to discuss this topic that seems to annoy a lot of people, but the fact that you haven't stopped harping on about it since the 31st August and we are all **** scared that you will continue to do so until January. That is the earliest we can do anything about buying a CB. We allegedly tried to sign other defenders, but did not succeed. We have what we have.

Please, please, please do not keep going on and on about us not signing another CB or defender. We know that. We all think we need another one, but have accepted that nowt can be done now.

But my point on all if this is does Adkins accept this as part of his plan or did he want someone else in ?
From this its either piss poor planning OR he has overestimated the talent of our centre backs , it can obviously only be one , that is the crux of my argument which most do not or fail to grasp .

no, we do grasp it, you just fail to read the responses. I have read loads of replies to you stating that we did try and sign more defenders. So, we wanted more defenders but weren't succesful. There was even a strong rumour on deadline day evening that a big money CB was being lined up... IT DID NOT HAPPEN. THE WINDOW HAS CLOSED.

Please come and remind us at the end of December that we may need to sign a defender.... just in case we have forgotten.

So its piss poor planning then ? Why had it gone to deadline day ? No excuses at all for that seeing as we had Cortese pulling all the strings .

Yes, you are right. You are 100% spot on. Let's sack the lot.

Let's keep going on about the bad planning and the total mis-management of our club until January. I think it's a disgrace the way our club is run.

Why didn't we sign a CB?

Gomarching, I am at a bit of a loss as to why you keep on about this. Lots of teams find that they're are unable to buy all the players they wished, but let's assume that the team which managed to get Gaston to sign for Saints, made a complete horlicks of their attempt at buying a defender. Let's assume for one moment, as you seem to have decided, that NC made a huge mistake. So what now? Are you suggesting that we should campaign to get NC to resign for gross incompetance?
There is nothing which can be done about the situation until the window opens again in January. I don't understand why you keep on about this. You have every right to express your view, but you do seem to be a bit obsessed by this one aspect of our situation. Personally, I think we had a good window, albeit without the extra signing which would have made it gold plated. I think NC knows what he has to do and I trust his judgement. You don't seem to. So, would you be in favour of him quitting? Or not?.

Of Cortese going ? Yes if we are still struggling in January as I think that the only honourable thing to do as Adkins would obviously be gone by then as well , the caveat for my argument is that he should onlyl go once we have been sold to a person or company that would put us in an even better position but seeing as would were in a relegation place it would not be difficult , there are so many permutations to that question its difficult to answer .

Well, I don't agree with you, but if that is your view of the man who introduced ML to Saints, bought Rickie, and has just spent £30 million in the summer, then as I said, you are entitled to your opinion. I don't believe it a widely held view though.

He is a man who promised we would never be relegated under his tenure , if we were what would you want then ? Because if the shoe was on the other foot he would sack you ?

I, personally, wouldn't want him to leave, but I can understand why people would. However, there is a huge difference between saying stuff like that after a relegation, and saying stuff like that four games into the season when three games have been against arguably the three best teams in the league (certainly three of the top four)
