"Sky Sports understands that a host of Championship clubs are ready to battle to sign Newcastle United midfielder Mehdi Abeid. The 20-year-old Algerian midfielder joined Newcastle last summer, when they beat a number of clubs to snap him up from Lens. He made his senior debut last season, starting games in both the FA Cup and League Cup for Alan Pardew's men. But Abeid is now set to be sent on loan to gain league experience and a host of Championship clubs are keen. Birmingham and Charlton are believed to be amongst those interested in snapping him up on loan." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/8086081/ Thoughts, feelings?
He is a good squad player to have for the europa league and thinking of letting him go when our squad is paper thin as it is, is a bit stupid!
Personally think we should hold on to him until January and see how the cup competitions and injuries are going but we can always whack a recall clause in the loan agreement and get him back at 24 hours notice.
Loaning him out would be sensible if we can include a 7 or 14 day recall clause. At the moment he isn't getting game time but, as has been mentioned, we an injury or suspension or two away from that changing
Have to agree with this point of view. Would rather wait until Jan and see how we are fairing. Then decide, l would be surprised if he had no part to play with all the extra games we have, but if for some reason he does not figure in Pardew's thinking, then yes, send him out for game time and more experience.
Send him out on loan, IMO midfield is the one area where we have loads of cover and can afford to lose a few kids.
