Yeah it was very workman-like. He didn't quicken away how I'd have expected it kind of looked one paced, But he got the job done. Hills have gone 4/1 favourite for the Arc...
Well, the second trial doesn't look to have thrown up anything. Saonais I thought was a fortunate winner of the French Derby and the ****ty pace has allowed him to beat them again with a burst of speed late on. He won't win an Arc. Anyone know if Imperial Monarch will have a pop at the Arc?
If Camelot doesn't go for the Arc which I imagine is up in the air at the moment then Imperial Monarch is likely to be in the race with St Nicholas Abbey thats if latter isn't solely aimed at the Breeders Cup turf instead. The form of Imperial Monarch's last run hasn't been helped much by Last Train there though...
Depends on what the plans are for Camelot I would say.SNA will go but who accompanies him,if any,is uncertain. Can't see much else for IM apart from North America.AO'B was considering runing him in Canada this weekend so he looks to type to be BC bound.
True. Remember though Imperial Monarch had to do it the hard way and make his own running that day. I think he deserves a chance in a truly run race so we can assess him better. If I owned Camelot I'd be heading straight to the Arc without a shadow of a doubt. He travelled supremely yesterday for the first mile and a half- he'd be right in the mix in the Arc. (And Ive been one of his biggest form critics- but I do really like the horse). Doesn't half remind me of his father. Was watching the great Montjeu earlier on youtube, what an animal.
IM has only had 4 runs and is infinitely better than the bare result of his last run, which was a G1 win.He did all the hard work and idled close home imo. I like him a lot.
I've gone for Princess Highway here. I do however think this race is a graveyard. Anything could pop up and win here...
Totally agree, You'll not see a better winner of the King George than Montjeu - Love hearing Jim McGrath's commentary '' But look at Montjeu, He's absolutely cantering on the outside, He's took about 4 lengths in a stride '' Cruised home that day. I didn't understand John Francome yesterday, He's got to be getting paid by Coolmore. All he was going on about is Camelot putting all his weight on his off-fore and his tail flailing more than usual. To the naked eye Camelot looked very relaxed throughout. I was a touch critical of JOB yesterday but Camelot just didn't have that kick when it was needed. 1m2f would be intresting, I'd love to see him in the Champions Stakes...
Shareta won impressively there, Quickened up and maintained the advantage very nicely. I thought she'd need abit more cut in the ground...
Good call RV. Won well today. Have to say I would not have expected her to win so easily! I wuld also love to see Camelot over 10f Dex but there is no way Coolmore will let him face Frankel. 10f ought to have been ideal for him this year. Now his unbeatenecord has gone I'd like to think they feel there is nothing to lose and everything to gain in racing Frankel. If he got close to him he'd be very well regarded by the public and it would give him a good argument for stud!
Francome made his remarks during the race, not after, and was correct..the horse underperformed imo.Shame no one giving the winner any credit.I really like him. I'd love to see Camelot in the Arc to try and reinflate his bubble. Why would he go for the Champion Stakes instead of the second most famous race in the world? Btw the CS isn't the first!!
Farhh and Moonlight Cloud doing battle in a moment. Is that a battle of Black Caviar and Frankel form?
