The Northampton branch of the SFC massive are coming down to todays game so we are bound to win big After Saturdays result we can't wait to get to SMS and start singing! Dark Lord
IF we win today, IF Huddersfield lose, we'd only need to win one out of last three games to go up on goal difference. IF! So near, so far! I can almost taste it.
I can,t wait for 3.00 to listen to the game on Saints player! Totally agree with other posters who suggest Jaidi should be rested today. With Hartlepool having nothing but 'professional pride' to play for Saints should win today quite comfortably, but then again, this is Saints! Btw I noticed that it was Fran who started the 'egg' comments on this thread when she referred to TNS, the team from Llan sant FRIED!! 3-0 win today.
Fran I would love to see Huddersfield lose today but they are playing Daggernham and Redbridge. Even though they are in a relegation scrap, this has got to be a home banker. I though D & R have been the worst team to play at St. Mary's this season in the league. They don't look like League One material at all.
You underestimate Hartlepool at your peril. They managed to thwart us during the last game. Which ended in a 0-0 we will have to come up with something different if we are going to beat them. It is not going to be any walk over trust me, another Bristol Rovers type game. Oh how we need that early goal to settle us................
Ian, D&R should not be underestimated either, they managed to stick three past Brighton! Although they probably will not be able to do that to Huddersfield. Especially with them flying at the moment.
I'm not convinced. Bristol Rovers had something to play for. Hartlepool do not. They gave a couple of players debuts on Saturday I believe, and they are surely on their summer holidays already. Quality alone should be enough to see us to three points, but when you add in the fact that only one side has something to play for, and there is surely no way that we can't win today.
Saints to win 2 -0, Another goal from Connolly would be good as the man is a complete pro and deserves a chance to shine for us, and a Lambert special as it's a while since he's smashed in one of his trademarks. Hopefully a good crowd today, would like to see closer to 30,000 than 20,000 but I can't see Hartlepool bringing more than about 1000.
The fact that Hartlepool have not got much incentive is probably not good news, they won't have any worries and have some players that could unstick us, hopefully NA is aware and fully ready to cope with anything they throw at us, but there is no room for complacency on our part, losing any points will only pile pressure on the final games. Referee is Simon Hooper from Wiltshire, hopefully he will have a good game and not want to be the headliner.
I can't see them bringing anywhere near 1,000 fans. I know a sunny Bank Holiday Monday afternoon is very different to a Tuesday night, but didn't they only bring down something like 13 fans last season?
Looking forward to another lovely day & a great game of football. I don't think we should under estimate Hartlepool & think we will have a tough game on our hands to break down their defence. Perhaps another Bristol Rovers on our hands. Anyway looking forward to it.
They had 195 fans last season although it looked a lot less than that. Can't see them bringing more than 300 as they've got nothing to play for.
Looking forward to this one. Sat on the Marina with a nice cold beer enjoying my day off relaxing. Ready for the next battle to commence.
Would like to see Saints revert to a 4-4-2 for a home game. If Lallana isn't fit I would like to see N'Guessan given a chance and start Connelly up front with Lambert. Use Lallana in the second half if needed.
H T: 0-0. Not going according to plan so far. no doubt our Nigel is telling the lads to 'keep chipping away'. Come on Saints, we don't want to see Udders ahead of us at 5pm!
