Unfortunately I can't see things changing from now until January, we don't have any out and out strikers and there is **** all we can do about it. It's quite frustrating, Carroll would of been perfect for today, Sterling was getting some quality balls in to the box. I think we were okay up until we conceded, and then like always, we went to ****. It's not that we're toothless, we're just cack in front of goal.

I'm a bit disappointed but at least we showed a little bit of backbone by leveling, It's sad to say it this early but I feel as if United is a must win game now, or the pressure is just going to snowball on Brendan.. We need to give him time, but it's a result industry unfortunately.

Not BR's signing though, Downing in my eyes is worth negative amounts, and I'm being serious. He's a sap on the clubs wage books. ANother game from him with 0 assists and 0 goals to add to last year's record of 0 assists and 0 goals.

We played terribly today which is a shame because with the lack of confidence and lack of strikers at Liverpool i just thought we could win this. Fair play though Liverpool played better than us, god knows what was wrong with us today, we just couldnt get going! Good luck with the season!

I'm actually happy for a change - we deserved the win but after we conceded, I thought the game was well and truly lost. But we showed fight, character and desire to win the game up until the final second. I've not seen that happen in a long time. Normally we would have folded and probably conceded a second.

Were we any better today with Borini in the middle? Or is Suarez the man after all?

Another bright point - Suarez has scored 7 in the last 11 PL games ...

Borini was more involved - had a couple of good efforts on goal.

Suarez will score goals, he's too good not too. He just needs to be consistent and it looks like he's going to be more so this season with 3 goals already.

It's frustrating because we dominated them without being brilliant and they had 1 chance and took it.

Borini needs time to settle and adjust to the Premier League physicality.

Same old story and normally I would be annoyed. But I'm actually pleased today. I thought Sunderland away was going to be very tricky but we made them look pretty ordinary. Hit the woodwork twice, could have got two penalties - as you say, we weren't even at our best.

I'm just happy because the lads actually fought back from a losing position. We normally lose once we concede the first goal and it was a case of same old by HT. But we really picked up the performance in the second half and salvaged a point.

Suarez wasn't at his best, but still produced a couple of magical moments and scored the goal. And Sterling was brilliant in the second half. Sahin and Assaidi possibly to come into the first team soon as well. If we can just hang on til January, picking up points here and there and then I can see the owners spending quite a bit.

Exactly. But he's not a player who will be involved in the general play. I think he's best suited to being the poacher, like a 'Fletcher' type. He took his chances pretty well (without scoring). Seems to be the only who can strike the ball and really put his laces through it.

Thought shelvey was pretty useless today, would like to see Sahin start playing (you know, that guy who won German player of the year award the year before last....)

Shelvey and Gerrard were in my opinion played in the wrong positions. It have been Gerrard pushed further forward with Shelvey playing alongside Joe Allen. Joe Allen compared to his usual high standards was pretty average.
