It's 2 weeks old but as far as I can see, nobody [amongst the half a dozen of us still remaining] has mentioned that Craig Noone has moved from Brighton to Cardiff for a reported £1m compared to the reported £0.3m we got when he left us.

I don't know if there were unusual circumstances, e.g. Noone at the end of his contract and refusing to re-sign but on the face of it, given he's had a season & a half in the Championship, where as far as I know he played pretty regularly, that makes the price we got for him look better business than perhaps we thought, doesn't it?

    CARDIFF NOT PORTSMOUTH, CARDIFF, DIMWIT.

Apologies, if I go on typing randomly perhaps I'll say something sensible eventually.

See how long Cardiff last spending money like its going out of fashion. Nooney is one of the most consistently quality players I've seen at hp, but with Cardiff spending premier money and not going up I think they could hit choppy waters and not for the first time!

He was here, I liked him as a player, he's gone. Best of luck to him whatever happens in his career but that is where my interest ends. Cardiff have been spending more money than they get for a long time now but I think they have somebody who currently is prepared to do that. It will all end in tears though as these things often do. Cardiff must be the most prolific nearly team in years.

The point I was making, which was rather lost in mistaking Cardiff for Portsmouth, a mistake anyone could make, was that the much criticised £300k we got for him doesn't look so ridiculous if he's worth £1m now......

It sounds ridiculous that in that short time his value had gone up from £300k to £1 million,..... now that is serious profit. Even in the position we were in that was highway robbery.

Don't forget bwp, plym! Also daylight robbery! Our best players from the last 5 years if still with us could be contesting top half of prem! Ah well, one can dream.

Sick-note Bradley has been one of my favourites GreenArmy for quite awhile.....rejected by Reading because of his dodgy knee........banging them in regularly for Charlton and our top scorer in his last year and only played half a season for us.

sensible and Mrs LaLa got fed-up with me mentioning him all the time.

I don't agree with you there at all.

Since he left us, he's had 18 months of good to excellent performance in a decent Championship side, which he certainly didn't get the chance of with us. On that basis, a 3:1 ratio looks pretty reasonable to me, although I don't know whether there were any factors discounting the price CARDIFF paid.

Cardiff are spending too much and might need Ridsdale to bail them out again !!!

I think £300k, if that is what it was, only sounds a bit bad in retro rather than at the time. Whilst Noone was a tidy player who did well enough whilst here he was still quite a novice. That money for a novice was decent enough business given what we paid. He has clearly come on a lot since then and proved himself. Hence the price rise. I would hazard a guess Brighton got less of a percentage rise than we did. The only reason I wasn't kean on BWP was his attitude. Not my cup of tea even now.

300-400K to Brighton seems fair enough considering he hadn´t established himself as championship level. I think he dropped out of favour a bit at Brighton seemed to be sub or subbed most games. Personally think 1 million for him sounds about fair, as for the blue/red/green/whatevercolour-birds spending they are getting big backing from Malaysian(don't quote me on that) businessman BUT if that stops they could be in a bit of a mess, hopefully not though.
As for the Pompey plight just when they seem to be at rock bottom someone come in to give them another kick!!!! Fingers crossed they will survive with a decent businessman who has the forsight to build a solid foundation and not get tempted to over-extend.
