Strange game really - I feel Villa could be beaten here but we seem a bit toothless and lacking spark.

Ashley Williams is an arsehole for the second week running. Was poor for Wales also. He needs to sort himself out.

We are getting worse every match - less goals scored and more conceded...

    5-0
    3-0
    3-1
    2-2
    0-2

Seems to be a pattern developing here. Need to put a stop to it. Quickly.

0-2. No complaints, I think Villa deserved their win overall.

Williams is looking a bit shaky at the moment. Tate played well. Overall a bad day at the office, fair play to Lambert got his tactic spot on again.

hhmm,, certainly different to last year. not to sure I like the lack of width, to congested in the middle. Going to be a tough game next week against Everton, need to get their heads sorted by then, or could be a different next 3 weeks to the first 3 weeks.....

Poor all round. Routledge and Dyer were no threat and Michu looked lazy. At least Hernandez showed signs of what we can look forward to. They will need to buck thei ideas up for Everton otherwise it might be a long day the Liberty.

Villa looked very good, lots of fight and commitment. We were poor with the final ball. typical Lambert performance for them and a pretty poor show for us. Hope Ash sorts it out soon he's not been too solid lately.
    Ho hum.

I thought we played very well first half, but less so in the second. Lambert's team was well organised but I wasn't particularly impressed with them other than tactically. Managers are getting to know that if they get 10 players behind the ball when we have it then like any team we'll struggle to score.

Villa were playing like the away team and hitting us on the break for much of the game. First half we totally bossed and their goal was against the run of play.

I'd say no need to panic but I am very worried about Williams after another poor display. 4 goals conceded this season in the league and 2 were gifts from him. This is what happens when you don't have competition for spaces.

A lot of positives though. Hernandez looks a real player, and we look like a much improved team this season despite the result.

Just got back from the game and went to this one last year as well.

The massive difference was our width.

Last year Dyer skinned their left back (Warnock?) so many times and the width stretched Villa. I remember Orlandi having a cracking game and Agustien spreading the ball wide

Today it was so narrow down the middle. I felt if we had got it wide we might have had a few goals today. Also very disappointed in De Guzman - no pace and almost stagnant in his play today. I'd bring in Ki for the next game.

Yes, I thought Ki should have come on by the middle of the second half, but I ain't the manager.

This is very true, We seemed to have pick up where we left off after the Newcastle game, Brett Holman did not let your midfield breathe or play your normal game.

Villa seem to be picking up and the workrate from our Lads is what won the game....well the goals helped but you know what i mean! lol

Could have been a totally different story if Guzan had not made some great saves while it was still 0-0, but a welcome 3 points for Villa here, well deserved imo.

Good luck for the rest of the season apart form the return fixture!
