How much would you want from someone to do it for them if it meant them losing their licence if you didn't or would you not do it no matter how much they offered as it's wrong?
I'd do it for £250. Mind you, as i don't have a driving licence I'm never likely to get asked.......
A good few grand at least, it will cost you the fixed penalty and then a big increase in your premiums every year for 5 years.
**** 'em. Not worth the risk or cost and you know they'll only go and lose it another way, regardless.
Really, insurance companies ask if you have had points on your licence in the last 5 years so the increased premium over that time would probably be more than £250. You would also need to be damn sure what angle the car was caught speeding. If from the front then its odds on there's a big grinning photograph of whoever was driving at the time. If the police decide to do a slight bit of checking to make the declaration of who was driving is correct and they find its falsified then both of your asses will be up in court on charges of perverting the course of justice, at that point a driving DQ would be the least of your worries.
Anyone want mine? Just done for doing 39 mph ... In what world is that 'speeding' ..I roll into my drive faster than that ... ****ers ..
Cheers for the replies. Think I'm gonna have to tell my mate that I won't do it as it doesn't seem worth it.
It depends how much you drive in comparison to them IMO, I see you live in Reading where you probably have to drive more so than in London so I probably wouldn't do it if I were you. I rarely use my car (it's a piece of ****e anyway) so it wasn't a big deal for me.
It really depends what direction he was caught, ask him if he saw the van and did it get him from the front or behind. If it was from behind your home and dry as there will be no photographic evidence of who was driving but if it was from the front the chances are there will be a photograph
