As Shrews go 2-0 up, it's beginning to look all over now. I can see Shrews going up (unfortunately as I predicted). Wycombe have blown it. We have no chance of winning the play-offs either. To be honest, I'm not too unhappy about it as, with our debts mounting, how could we afford League 1 Salaries? And that's without taking into account any purchases we would need to make to stay up. I think there is insecurity within the club (bound to be) and it's spilling onto the pitch. I won't be surprised to see Waddock go. I think he is on a rolling contract that only ties him to 1 year at a time. Sorry to sound so pessimistic but that's how I see it from a realistic viewpoint. I can't say that I hope I'm wrong because I don't know what to hope in view of the club's predicament. I just wish they could become financially stable and that the whole team could fight with enthusiasm every match. All the team connections are constantly under a cloud. I wonder how Hayes sleeps at night.
Well done Chavboys automatic promotion is out of your hands! Let's face it you lot are too non-league by tradition for League One. ColU Rule OK!!!
it could be worse rocky, fancy being a gillingham or portvale fan tonight?,stuffed at home by the bottom two respectively, lots of twists and turns to go yet
why cannot the wobblers win the playoffs, you have as good a chance as the other 3, whoever they are. promo from L2 will be tight next season as there are only 3 places available. crawley town look racing certainties for promo without kicking a ball
Yeah you can see Crawley going at it like Stevenage, they will be great, Well I am amazed with how well Stevenage have done, It is amazing.
i didnt think we would win at your place and after seeing torquay dominate most of the match i have to be happy with a draw but i am still pissed off after getting up at 450 am and on the 530 train into london only to find i had to stand in a cramped carrage all the way from paddington to exeter.i knew it wasnt my day when the train at exeter st davids broke down on the way back and i got home at 1230,and they say us football fans are not mad ,you can only when things like that happen
we have to beat crewe at home on monday to have any chance now,but the way we are playing we dont look like we have a win in us
Not all over yet folks. If, and it is a very big IF, we can beat Crewe and Bury lose to Chesterfield then victory at Bury would put us level on points with them. There are still plenty of twists and turns to come.
Really can't believe some of the negativity on this thread from the likes of Ron & RBA. Unbelievable, really, writing off our chances at this late stage. If (IF) we win tomorrow, Shrews could easily slip up against Accrington (who are only one place below us) and we would be back into the automatic places. As MBUWWFC says we could be level with Bury if they lose at Champions-elect Chesterfield and we beat them. Still lots of twists to come, just better to channel energy into supporting the team. All we can do is win our games and we've got to focus on beating Crewe. If not there is still the playoffs. They can be sealed by a WW win tomorrow alongside either of Gillingham & Stevenage slipping up. And the playoffs are a lottery really. I for one still remain excited about the end of the season with promotion still a very real possibility, I don't understand how some supporters don't enjoy this nail biting stage of the season, not good for the heart but what about the excitement and drama - come on guys!
DJWWFC. I'm a Wycombe fan through and through and will support them through the good and bad times, as I have for near on 60 years. I'll be as excited as anyone if we win and I listen/watch the screen every game cheering them on. I'm just looking at things objectively, bearing in mind form and goings on that could well be affecting morale in the club as a whole. If the team were putting in 100+% effort for all 90+ minutes and there wasn't a cloud hanging over the club, I would be much more optimistic. My heart doesn't agree with my head and I hope my head is wrong but, from a betting angle, I would not risk any money on auto promotion, nor would I risk any beating Torquay in the play-offs. Also, from what I have seen, League 1 would not be a very happy place to be, ability wise and financially. That's my realistic view of the situation I'm afraid. Even so I will still be cheering them on whatever happens. Whenever they play well, win or lose, it makes my day. I am really glad to see some opposition to my views and I'll be even more glad if I'm wrong.
8 games 3 teams Wycombe v Crewe home win Shrewsbury v Accrington draw Chesterfield v Bury home win Bury v Wycombe away win Cheltenham v Shrewsbury away win Stevenage v Bury draw Shrewsbury v POxford home win Wycombe v Southend ?
i am not being negative just realistic i cant see us getting auto place because even if we finish on the same points as either the shrews or bury our goal difference is gonna cost us,i follow the blues home and away and would love to see us go up but if we get torquay in the play offs we are not going up its as simple as that
On that nail biting last match of the season when we were hanging on to find out the Bury result to see if we were promoted, who was the team Bury were playing. I seem to remember thanking Accrington for something and I'm wondering if it was for that result. How freaky would that be if that result against Shrews today scuppered Shrews' auto promotion to let us in again.
