should be our guiding example. But, as he enters his 83rd year, let's hope that they don't leave it too long to strip Irvine Patnick of his knighthood.

And, bluenose as he is, let's call for Andy burnham to be honoured along with trevor hicks and the others who lead the Justice for the 96 campaign.

Gordon Taylor on BBC News now.

In his first sentence, "we had some problems last year with racism"(isn't JT still to go before the FA?),"and problems in the past with Heysel and Bradford"(Bradford like Hillsborough was not caused by crowd violence)

The man is sick, even though he knows todays outcome he still put his digs into LFC on the sly.

    Hes now ranting about Saurez.

i saw that on bbc world news. he FACTUALLY lied saying we wore t shirst after suarez was found guilty and went on to say diving was fine and it was up to refs to deal with.

Taylor is the worst kind of self promoting self interest type of scumbag.... by the by this is a UNION for RICH PLAYERS.... not for the "gras roots"

the pfa ought to be run out of town.

I agree that Gordon Taylor is a twat but you're incorrect to state that the PFA is a union for rich players. It is used far more by lower league players who don't have £20million in the bank. When their careers end they need the PFA more than Wayne Rooney does! Guy I know paid £70k to be a sponsor of the PFA so he could access their database to sell villas in the Caribbean He put Terry and Ferdinand's mugs on the brochure, gifted them a villa each and got a sum total of **** all interest through the PFA marketing campaign. In the end the PFA admitted that the players who could afford overseas villas wouldn't have even opened any mail from the PFA and that the Doncaster reserves who did engage with the PFA weren't really in a position to drop 500k - £2million on a holiday home.

But yes Gordon Taylor is a twat. He earns 600k a year for being a twat.

Wasn't sure which thread to post this on but after having a look this seems the best place.

This is kind of an apology/explanation on my part really so here goes.

When Hillsborough happened I was a teenage match going lad and knew the ground, having watched United there frequently in the years before, and Liverpool fans only too well. The relationship between us and you in the 80's was savoury to say the least, the general attitude of the 80's fan was bad and the attitude of the police was worse. The stadiums were ****.
I had myself gone to Anfield on a Wednesday night for a Milk Cup game not long prior and been punched freely by the police after getting off the bus from the station. I'd been set upon by a friendly bunch of scouse lads one Easter sunday at Southport fair, the day before we played you at OT.

Heysel was also fresh in everyone minds as, relatively, it had only just recently happend.

The reason I say all this is that it was on this basis very easy to listen to the police give why they thought it had happend and believe it. It's not like I hadn't seen United fans or whoever arrive late at games pissed, even without tickets, so it was easy to accept that this had caused the incident. That 'Pool fans had forced their way in.

I don't and have never read The Sun so I have always taken that with a pinch of salt, having watched the footage live I never believed that Liverpool fans could have been robbing their mates etc.

I did though go along with them being a contributing factor to the incident, not the aftermath.

I now fully accept this is all bullshit. I had been long coming round to that idea anyway but the report confirmed it to me, anything I had long since believed might have happened is utter ****.

No one, whoever that may be, goes to football to die. I'm sure a lot of us stood on terraces worried but we just took it as the norm.

The 'songs' must stop and those accountable for the Hillsborough tragedy must be brought to book and prosecuted, including those in the Thatcher government. Including her.

    Peace.

He deserves a gong, but it wouldn't surprise me if he turned it down.

He has always maintained that he deserved what he got at the 20th anniversary, because of the failures of the government he was part of, and that in the past three years he has simply led a campaign that should already have been wrapped up.

He reiterated that yesterday at the vigil.

Still no apology from Thatcher, whether she was all over an excuse to hammer football hooliganism with their ID card scheme or just going with what she was told, which was unlikely given her lust for the rule of law. And I'm not holding my breath for one, either, but we will dance on her grave.

Thanks Ruffian for such a very honest post. We need the support of people like you even more now as we try and move along with the families to achieve the the justice demanded by the truth.

Thanks Rusholme. Now more than ever we ALL need to stand together against scum who sing heysel/Munich/Hillsborough songs. We play each other in a few weeks, and undoubtedly some WILL (on both sides) start off simply out of habit like the need to pick at a festering ulcer. Then the excuse for some will be "Well they started it".

I haven't got a ticket yet, but if i do I SWEAR now I'll take a leaf out of my late father's book who, when some lowlife kicked of in the Supporter's Club after a Liverpool-United match and started trying to sing the Munich song, and lamp the bastard.

To all the good fans in the league, DO NOT TOLERATE IT ANY MORE!

There was NO indication yesterday that there was any governmental involvement in thee tragedy. Personally, I find this impossible to believe and even harder to stomach. I hate that bitch with a passion because of this and because of what she did to this country.

I no longer go to games, simply because I cant associate with the players & fans alike, barring the a few good natured old skoolers. Last time I was at Anfield, a 1-1 draw with Wigan. ( I only went as my girlfriend bought me tickets for my birthday) I had to put up with a cockney shouting abusese at a Wigan player for the entire 1st half for the heinous crime of...being quite good. The level of hatred you here now is too much, there were children sitting around him& didnt think twice about screaming the c*** word, his face red with contorted anger, veins bulging & saliva dribbling down his chin (& onto his fresh LFC top) Noone said a thing. I finally snapped and told him to wind it in as there were kids about and to have some respect...not a peep for the rest of the match.

Im not telling this story.to hold myself up as some sort of Parriah, but it just takes one person to say something and it can now all the difference.

I agree with that, instead just attack individual players from either side. United fans shouting 'Suarez you goofy bastard'' and Liverpool fans shouting ''Evra you french pansy''. They get paid enough to not get offended by name calling.

Clucking bell, Alun Jones, the lead prosecuting counsel in the families' private prosecution against Duckenfield and Murray in 2000, has just been on BBC News 24. Wow.

This goes deeper than just SYP - the whole criminal justice system and two governments conspired repeatedly to stimie any search for the truth. in fact, the DPP at the time called us 'wingeing Scousers'. No wonder they got away with it for 23 years - once Duckenfield chose to lie about the gates he became the human shield for the whole establishment. They just COULDN'T let the real truth out.

One day they'll make a Hollywood film of this (which undoubtedly will be no nearer the truth than SYP), but as Brad Pitt is said to be a 'Pool fan I bagsy he plays me. Purely in interests of realism...

Sorry if I seem disrespectful people, bbut as more and more facts come out I can only laugh at the sheer absurdity of it all. I did enough crying yesterday, tbh. It's all getting like the Bourne identity.

  19. Makes you wonder whether once the ball started rolling towards a cover up, whether anyone involved had a strong enough character to stand up and stop it, they seem to have all gone with it rather than be the one to stand up and be counted, probably in fear that it would be against the government too. With how deep this is going it makes me wonder whether the culprits would have been prevented from saying anything even if they had wanted to!
