Surprised that Hughesy is so highly favoured for the elbow.

He has splashed a lot of cash on transfers and especially wages at 6PR but his dad's army of Chelsea rejects will keep 'boutique club' QPR up in my opinion

Has not exactly had a stellar coaching career. Don't understand how relative failure never seems to stop more job offers. Great player, wouldn't be even a second division coach in my opinion.

I am surprised Brendan is that high up too. Third. Ahead of RDM too.

rangers do have a recent history of changes coaches a lot

A classic case of "great players never make good managers"!

He was very good at Blackburn, to be fair. And he also did a decent job as the Wales manager.

Hughes may not be the greatest manager but he has an eye for talent. I'd like to see him succeed, he is a boyhood Chelsea fan and we should want him to do well.

If I were a betting man my money would be on:

    1) Adkins

    2) AVB

    3) Hughes

    4) Hughton

I think RDM and Allardyce will be gone too but not mid-season, Allardyces contract won't be renewed but he will keep them up, he fact he's never lost 4 in a row is telling. They will take teams apart at Upton Park on set pieces. I reckon 3/4 away wins on top of what they'll get at home will see them stay up. They're capable of that.

The CL win will buy RDM a full season but I think it's an inevitability tbh. Unless we're in danger of not making top 4 but with the squad we have that shouldn't be a problem. Last year he squad was poor and we only had 2 players in form with a clueless manager to boot, how we even got 6th was a miracle, how we were even in the CL was a mini-miracle.

When managers are judged, it is always a task to judge like for like. Jose and Guardiola especially, and Alex Ferguson, have had endless funds, top players and it's often said " my mother could manage them ". If only.
AVB had reasonable talent in Portugal, mostly past it and bad attitude at Chelsea, along with an imploding narcisistic club, Hughes has done nothing at 'small ' clubs, OK with someone else's at Fulham, Brendon did a fabulous job at Swansea with little going for him. And so it goes on.
In my opinion AVB will prove most people wrong in the next 3 years, Hughes will always be a mediocre manager, Brendon Rogers will also make the big time, in time. Alledyce et al, stagger from Club to Club .There is a serious lack of real managerial talent world wide, in fact, there are more good strikers than good managers.
However, despite what most people think, if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.

Agree I think RDM will last his stop-gap role til we get Pep, Jose, etc

Mark Hughes is a Chelsea legend, a Chelsea supporter from a boy, I'm wondering if the Rangers fans will turn against him for this. Especially as he is building his defence around ageing Chelsea players.

QPR are the Chelsea pensioners this season

We have one ex-Chelsea right-back who has just turned 30 and one other ex-Chelsea player in the entire squad. I'm not quite sure how that translates to building a defence around ageing Chelsea players or being the Chelsea pensioners.

Could well be wrong but defensively thought you had.

Chelsea reject but still Champions League winner Jose B (who is shyte) in his 31st year
Chelsea's greatest ever CB Carvalho in his 35th year

    Plus:
Chelsea flop SWP about to enter his 31st year
Chelsea fan, legend and failed manager Huuuuughesssy!
    Chelsea failure Paul Furlong

Bosingwa isn't good enough for a top four side but is comfortably good enough for a team aspiring for mid-table.
    We haven't signed Carvalho.
Wright-Phillips is a squad player who Hughes seems to rate higher than anyone else.
Hughes himself isn't a failed manager- he did well for Wales, Blackburn and Fulham. You're scraping the barrel if you consider him a Chelsea legend- under 100 games for the club compared to well over 300 for United. Is he even a Chelsea fan or have you made that up? I can't believe many people born in Wrexham in the 60s support a team from South-West London.
Furlong is a youth coach but was an excellent player for us.

Very little of which points towards building a defence around ex-Chelsea players or any of the other piffle.

Fair enough Watford. But we loved Hughesy at Chelsea and he is a known Chelsea fan from an early age.

he only played three seasons for us but he was a firm favourite at the Bridge one of our most popular players along with Bush boy Wise and Franco.

I can't see him being a particularly successful manager though

No he is, not that it matters at all. My flatmates uncle was born and bred in Wrexham and supports Chelsea as does his kids. I've been to the odd Wrexham away game and annoyingly there are a few that go in Chelsea gear. Liverpool, Everton also popular in those parts as well. You'd be amazed how huge the support for those clubs is in North Wales in general.

Hughes was a Chelsea fan in his youth, bear in mind he would have started watching us in mid-to late 60's when we had a lot of swagger and glamour about us.

And though legend may be stretching it, there's no denying how popular he was with the Chelsea fans.
His partnership with Franco(best we'd had since Dixon and Speedie) helped us to our first trophy in 26 years and no one could forget how he inspired Chelsea in the cup against Liverpool after being 0-2 down at half-time to come back and win 4-2.
And his goal against Vicenza to put us in the Cup Winners Cup final.

Actually. I've changed my mind, he is a legend.
Still not a great manager though.
